The Steelers will go 8-9 this coming season. Kaaron Rodgers is cooked.
The fact that people are comparing this to the "Brady Era" is freaking comical.
Not even remotely comparable.
Rodgers is in a better situation in Pittsburgh than he was in New York (Tomlin), but yeah, he's not brining in Gronk, Brown, and Lenny to swing for the fences.
Burrow is the best QB in that division, will be interesting to see who is second. With Denver, LAC, Dolphins, Pats all coming along, not to mention the first 3000 yard rusher in LV (people need to slow the fuck down on this kid), I only see two playoff teams coming out of the AFCN.

Rodgers is definitely no Brady (& crew). The comparison is actually a mostly build through draft, keep your own team (like the Bucs under Licht) choosing to break from that mold for the "#1 Free Agent QB"
Falcons did the same with Cousins. That didn't really work out and now sets them back.
Brady tried to go to the Dolphins in 2022. He has a home there.
in 2019 the Dolphins were in "tank for Tua" mode do they definitely needed a QB in 2020.
Brady chose the Bucs
The Falcons had Quinn as a coach and definitely needed a QB. McKay/Dimitroff not adverse to big moves (Cousins), Brady still went to the Bucs.
The Panthers are new owner, moving on from Cam and have CMC. The new owner definitely a win now guy. Brady still went to the Bucs
the Bears are a legendary team who actively recruited Brady. He still went to the Bucs
:-)

Aaron Roders is the best thrower of the football, probably ever. Certainly in the top 3 or 4. Cousins is a fine QB but he's no HOFer.

That, and he’s washed.

agreed
I am not sure Rodger's has much left but man he used to have a great quick release with power for days.

Yeah, on a crappy team, he threw for the 7th most TDs of any QB last season. But sure, he's washed.

3rd best QB in his division this season.
Should be a fun watch this year
When Brady chose the Bucs ESPN highlighted two reasons: east coast and Arians who was 2 time coach of year and open to collaboration
Brady later discussed his 20 point list that led him to choose the Bucs:
"When Tampa Bay came into the picture as a serious option for me, all I did over those few days in March was assess and reassess my priorities. I asked myself, as someone headed into their forties with school-age kids and twenty years worth of battle scars, what truly mattered to me now? What I ended up with was a list of about twenty things that I then ranked and graded on a weighted scale from 1 to 3. The presence of skill players was a 3 in terms of importance, for example, and the Bucs graded out as a 3 because of guys like Mike Evans and Chris Godwin The same was true for the head coach. That was a 3 in importance, and Tampa scored a 3 with Bruce Arians. Game day weather was a 2, practice weather was a 3. Financial compensation was on the list, obviously, but it wasn’t first, it probably wasn’t even top 10, and it definitely didn’t rank as a 3 in importance."
Licht was responsible for Arians and those skill players
not for Tampa being on the east coast
2 for 3, not bad
The view of an NFL vet new to the Bucs
“I’ve been on some really good teams,” Walker said yesterday. “I love the way they do things here from top to bottom.
“All the guys, the coaches, the offensive coaches, defensive coaches – it’s a real family-organization here. I’m excited to be here.”
great to read
Top 50 lists are going to be more interesting and debateable.
He went to a fantastic offensive line, WR’s, & signed a fantastic RB.
Tampa was a place that was almost perfect, and had the resources to finish off what was needed, within a winnable NFCS.
Havent felt this good about an assemblage of talent since that Brady year. Few, if any, QB’s are at Brady’s level, but Baker is a winner and we have the best shot at making this a special season. Things seem to have aligned, once again. It will be exciting to see.
Brady made it all come together, and kicked the culture thing into overdrive.
The last time we looked this poised to make a run was the Brady era. That’s the only thing similar.
but isn’t that the point?
This is the season I, and many here, thought would be our chance to break! Can’t deny that this offseason’s additions have been perfect for defense, and offense. The Bucs also brought every critical piece, back.
So, it seems like the Bucs front office has positioned this team to have a special season, too (I think it’s why they were so frustrated with the loss of el serpiente)…
The players & coaches won’t talk about it, but the interviews I’ve heard, it’s definitely on their minds.
