Ran a mock last night, based on a trade down with Buffalo. We picked up their #21 and #22, as well as their 3rd rounder. We give up #7 overall and a 5th rounder.
RD1(21) - Vita Vea (DT)
I know some will say that he won't make it this long, but I have a feeling he could slide after the combine. If he's there, would be an immediate upgrade to our line. Should free up McCoy for more 1 on 1 opportunities and give our DE's a little more room. Would definitely consider Payne as an alternate.
RD1(22) - Taven Bryan (DT)
Would love to add this guy on here, as he can move around the line. A ton of athleticism, strong at the point of attack, and a quality run defender as well.
RD2(38) - Duke Ejiofor (DE)
I've seen mocks that have Hubbard anywhere from 15 to 50, so I want to plug him in here, but won't for sake of playing it safe. I think Duke has the size and quickness to be a solid end for us for years to come. Three picks that essentially rebuild the line to start off, should seriously infuse some talent into our defensive front.
RD3(69) - Akrum Wadley (RB)
This might be a bit of a reach, but I like him better than Penny. Good receiver out of the backfield and multi-talented as a back. Didn't put up godly numbers in school, but has a skillset that could form a nice duo with Barber.
RD3(96) - Marcell Frazier (DE)
I can already hear it. We took 4 defensive lineman with 4 of our 5 picks thus far? You're damn right! Frazier showed promise Shrine week, and put up decent numbers the last few years. I think he has the potential to one day be a starter, but at the very least would provide solid and quality depth.
RD4(104) - Sean Welsh (G/C)
Projecting him at RG for his NFL career, but does have some versatility with experience at RT and at C. Possibly a less talented version of Marpet that could fill in immediately, and be moved around if required.
RD5(135) - TRADED TO BILLS
Didn't have time to finish off the mock last night, but this was the start. I'd be pretty happy with this haul.
