  1. Long time reader, long time PR member.   So long ago I went to the PR gathering several years back and met Jon Grudens mother during training camp back in 05ish in Orlando.

I don’t typically post much here but, I read if daily.  Seems the refld board doesn’t get as much love as it used to.

Ok, enough small talk.  I understand the offense is still “gelling”.  I am just not sold on White.  Any chance we trade someone for a good running back that fits the zone blocking scheme?  White keeps dancing in the backfield whereas, the zone blocking scheme is meant to take one cut and explode at/towards the line of scrimmage.

Maybe a Kareem Hunt or any RB that played in Denver or Seattle?

i think to win in the playoffs, you run effectively, utilize playaction, and play good defense.

If wd don’t get 3-4 yards per rush, we are doomed come January football.

Thoughts?

dont think we should trade for anyone as not many are worth a draft pick or the contract that come with it

i think Leonard Fournette would be a good option as our #2 to White

he obviously didnt have much luck as we've seen last year but not a bad option should White get banged up and certainly better than Vaughn and Tucker.

thing is, Lenny "requested his release" so to speak and likely has a number in mind that nobody is willing to give him.

not sure if he is retiring or if he takes a 1 year , vet minimum deal to be with us

Welcome back! Yea this place is dead compared to what it once was.

I feel like this team absolutely needs a running game and if they had that team would be so much better and harder to play against. I know people say we are not a rb away from a sb I don't think that's entirely true. I think this team has potential like the one Brady led a couple seasons ago. Fundamentally I think this team might be better than that one at least in the beginning of the season. Still a long year and obviously Brady is Brady and baker is baker but he's not been bad. If he had a run game he'd be better. D is looking good. I like this team. I know we are facing tougher times with cap going forward and just let those years be rebuilding years. Let's try to get the trophy this year too damn it!

White isn't a good inside runner but the problem is mainly Mauch. He doesn't have a guard body type and is getting bullied inside. I would like to see Stinnie and Leverett at guard but they paid Feiler so he's going to play and they drafted Mauch in the 2nd round so he's going to play.

Good point about Mauch and Leverett.  All i can think of is the holes Edmonds got to see before his injury.   It seems he was a much more effective runner.  I think cause he was used to the zone blocking scheme.

Hunt is in Cleveland

Fournette is probably better suited to play DT at this point

Not interested in trading for Taylor

What else is out there?

Licht can't draft a rb to save his life...

Yea Lenny wouldn't be a bad option as he knows the system and he used to have a history of being harder to bring down. We need a guy who's either running through the tackles well or a guy who's just tough to bring down.

Lenny is not a good choice.  Not sure the Bucs are really in “win now” mode anyway. More likely to roll with what they’ve got.

This is a totally different system than we ran the last 3 years so Fournette doesn’t know it but, I’d love to see how he does in a zone blocking scheme.

To be clear, it’s unlikely the Bucs trade for a running back

the offensive line strength has not been run blocking in the Brady/post Brady era

looks like it will be white with tucker/Vaughn/Edmonds as back up.

i only suggest Lenny from a lockeroom still capable perspective as a #2

as the Bucs advance in the season and perhaps playoff hunt, they should highly consider better depth here.

Lenny in a zone blocking scheme would be a horrendous fit. There's a reason why we got quick twitch backs 1-3 in the depth chart and Vaughn was 4.

We NEED a LG and a C to make any push at the LOS. Mauch has put up some hot and cold run blocking tape but the other two starters are holding us back.

As I stated in another thread, I seriously don't get the obsession with washed up players (especially RB's and WR's).

You had the usual dolts banging the drum all offseason for a washed, oft-injured Julio Jones simply because he was a "name".

Then they were legitimately shocked when he spent half the season on the bench injured and looking like a shell of himself (Mr. AB 2.0).
