If the texans take Bortles trade with the rams for Teddy.
If the texans take Bortles trade with the rams for Teddy.
I wouldn't be opposed to this. I just don't think we're in the position to do it.
It would take two 1st rounders. Minimum.
When will folks in the NFL learn that the Patriots are all Tom Brady? None of the coaches or players (save Wes Welker perhaps, but look who's throwing the ball to him now) that have left the organization have panned out. Brady is everything for the Patriots. I think Billichek wouldnt have a fraction of the success he's had without him. Just my $.02.
I would trade #7, next year's 1, and next year's 3rd for Bridgewater. Only QB I'd move up for
Hell yes trade Glennon if it involves moving up and getting Bridgewater or Bortles.I dont like starting rookie QBs so my plan from there would be to go after a Josh McCown type, or even Michael Vick to give him some time.
If Lovie would like a more athletic QB and Glennon isn't going to be his guy, how about looking to the Texans to make a deal?O'Brien likes a big QB that eats and breathes football.

Highly doubt it, but crazier things have happened.

The cost would be prohibitive, I agree. Plus it is a hell of a gamble to start off your tenure. If you invest all that and anything goes wrong you are screwed. I think they will let this draft come to them unless something really unusual happens. Lovie has the luxury of being very patient, the Glazers really need him and will keep needing him for a long time. He doesn't have to force anything.Looking at the draft:1. Houston Texans - 2-14 (.559) 2. St. Louis Rams (via Washington Redskins) - 3-13 (.516) 3. Jacksonville Jaguars - 4-12 (.504) 4. Cleveland Browns - 4-12 (.516) 5. Oakland Raiders - 4-12 (.523) 6. Atlanta Falcons - 4-12 (.553) 7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 4-12 (.574)8. Minnesota Vikings - 5-10-1 (.512) 9. Buffalo Bills - 6-10 (.520) 10. Detroit Lions - 7-9 (.457) 11. Tennessee Titans - 7-9 (.504) 12. New York Giants - 7-9 (.520) 13. St. Louis Rams - 7-9 (.551) 14. Chicago Bears - 8-8 (.465) 15. Pittsburgh Steelers - 8-8 (.469) 16 or 17. Baltimore Ravens - 8-8 (.484) 16 or 17. Dallas Cowboys - 8-8 (.484) 18. New York Jets - 8-8 (.488) 19. Miami Dolphins - 8-8 (.523) 20. Arizona Cardinals - 10-5 (.529)Four teams need QBs ahead of us. You will almost guaranteed see TB, JFF, (and probably Bortles given the current love affair with the guy) go before we pick. You are probably looking at whoever your number 4 QB is going as well. Our only trade option is at #2, and that is pretty much everyone's only trade option if they are looking for a QB, as I doubt anyone from3 to 5 is going to risk losing a QB. They are more likely to look to move UP rather than down. STL is in prime position to rape some team, and that spot will go to the most desperate team, which I do not think we are -- regardless of anyone else's opinions of Tedford, Lovie believes he has a QB guru, and a smart, driven, prototypical QB for that guru to work with. Then compare that to someone like the Vikings. Who is going to pay more for that spot?
Still cant believe that Chud got fired and now Cleveland is probably going to draft another QB.Hoyer was looking very legit in that offense and even Campbell looked good in it. It's just insanity. That is how you become a perennial loser.
Yeah maybe if it was Glennon + #7 for #1. Otherwise no.
I don't think the Texans would trade for Glennon when they can choose whoever they want to at the top of the draft (or in round 2, who likely would also be as good as Glennon, if not better). What would you hope to get for Glennon from the Texans anyways? A 3 and a 6?

Yep

If Glennon wasn't part of the plans, I'd be happy with a third and a sixth. In retrospect, a third and a sixth for Freeman would have been amazing. After thinking about it, though, it doesn't make a ton of sense for the Bucs without an alternative plan in place at QB.
We obtained an average qb for a third, so if we got a third and a sixth, at least it would be an upward trend.
