I know some people want Trestman as our OC, but there are much better candidates out there than him for several reasons. 1. What in the world would anyone believe that Josh McCown lobbying would have any affect on Lovie`s decision to hire an OC. Listen to a guy who played eight games with him and supposedly had the best football in his career under him. He played okay two of those eight games he only completed around 10 passes. Not to mention in the eight games Chicago went 3-5 and scored 11, 19, 20, 21 points in four of those games. 2. Second if Josh McCown doesnt restructure his ass should be shown the door. No way in hell we ought to pay him 5.25 millions next year for what a cheerleader. What could a rookie truly learn from him and would a rookie even take him serious. 61-59 as a starter, played for 8 teams over his career and hardly done anything to show for it. I am sure he is a nice guy and is a good lockerroom guy but we need to honest with ourselves no way is he worth 5.25 million next year. Better off to keep Glennon and draft Mariota and let them compete in the offseason. 3. Does anyone know who was the offensive coordinator for the Oakland Raiders in the Superbowl when they got anniliated by the Bucs. Marc Trestman. Say all you want about Jon Gruden knowing the offense, don`t you think that Trestman knowing he was playing Gruden put in some different looks for the Superbowl, or run the ball instead of passing like crazy in the game and falling right into our hands. There are much better options for an OC than Trestman. I have a relative that works in the organization and there are a couple of vague points but he did give me some info.1. Lovie will not hire nor interview a college offensive coordinator. Glazers have been burned badly by two and will not happen a third time. Tedford situation bought Lovie another year but they were highly frustrated than Lovie fed them we spent a year together and this is my guy and he didn`t even make it through the preseason. 2. If Lovie trades out of the first pick and doesn`t select a quarterback this team better show drastic improvement or he will be gone. 8-8 almost won`t be enough, the Glazers want a franchise quarterback haven`t had a successful one in a very long time and expect them to play a role in putting there two cents in on draft day.3. Lastly Roman or Koetter are good choices for OC. Honestly I love Roman's nasty run mentality and having success with Alex Smith and Colin Kaepernick will help him. His knowledge and personality could make this offense aggressive and bring a attitude that we haven't seen in a long time in Tampa.
