Vikings Quietly Shopping Peterson Justin Pawlowski @CommishOnlineMar 18, 2015 The Vikings may be quietly shopping Adrian Peterson, but are the Bucs quietly buying? The Vikings have tried communicating with Adrian Peterson in an attempt to keep their star running back happy. Those attempts seem to have failed.According to Minneapolis sportswriter Larry Fitzgerald Sr, the Vikings are ready to move on from Peterson.
Larry Fitzgerald Sr. @FitzBeatSr Vikings quietly going about the business of shopping Adrian Peterson. He has requested-I want out! 7:07 AM - 17 Mar 2015 So, where does Peterson play in 2015? The Arizona Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys come to mind. The Cardinals have the interest and the cap room to fit Peterson onto their squad. The Cowboys cap room is scarce. If the Cowboys sign Greg Hardy, they probably won't have the room to fit Peterson's big salary. Then there's the Bucs. Our own Gil Arcia recently wrote that the Bucs were planning to be aggressive in their attempt to acquire Peterson. The Bucs need an upgrade at running back for their rookie quarterback and have plenty of cap room. I just don't know if going all-in on a 30 year old running back is the best strategy.
Larry Fitzgerald Sr. @FitzBeatSr Peterson will be 30 years old Saturday-big private celebration party for him in Texas.Last year beat him up. 7:14 AM - 17 Mar 2015 I realize that Adrian Peterson is one of the greatest running backs of all time, but most running backs hit the breaks at age 30. Let's also factor in the 3-years and $45 million left on Peterson's current contract. There are a lot of factors for me not having any interest in Peterson.Of course, Peterson's best years had him running over and through Lovie Smith's Bears defense and playing for a coach named Leslie Frazier. Yes, there are some ties, but Bucs GM Jason Licht must weigh the price paid versus the return they'll get on their investment. If the Buccaneers do have interest in Adrian Peterson and are one of the teams the Vikings are quietly shopping him to, I hope they don't bite and pay too much. I would not trade more than my 4th round pick in this year's draft for Peterson, and that may be stretching it for me. Yes, a top back could be a great help to a rookie quarterback, but at what price. There is zero chance I'd trade away any of my picks in the first 3 rounds of the draft. If that's the asking price, let Peterson go elsewhere.link
