Did we see an explanation for this?
Vita still played 72% of the snaps but he got more rest... I'm not understanding why he was even rushing the punter. Was that by design or did he go rogue?
Trying to block a punt from midfield is sooo bad... If they're pinned back I can live with it but it makes no sense to do it there.
At what point do we fire our special teams coach? Every week it's a new bonehead play.
Our kicking has improved but Chase missed a big one.
Our punt/kickoff coverage continues to struggle.
Punting was better but that's because Sky Moore fields punts at the 2... So those were actually shitty punts.
Started the game with a holding call on a decent return.
Then of course Vita roughing the punter.
So wtf is going on? Wtf was Vea thinking? Or was that by design?
im not sure what Vea was thinking and he wasn't even close to blocking it. It was the worst decision/play of his career
luckily, it didnt come back to bite us but i was very disappointed in our savvy veteran there.
and there a fine line between blaming coaching versus the player but in this particular play, it was a brain dead move by Vea. And that guy has been a stud for us since he joined in 2018 so all good here but boy was i losing my mind when he did that haha
Not sure what was going on with that play at that time. Just let them punt the ball. I'm all for block punts but at certain times in games you don't force certain things because it can back fire in a way. Like a penalty like roughing the punter when you pretty much got the game in the bag with the ball back or opportunity to put it in the bag. It was the shaking your head moment for me on this game too.

he's in on them earlier in the game. This didnt look like any special play. More like he wanst relaly blocked well and found himself there. He wasnt really that close to blocking it anyway so no idea.
Why is he rushing tho? I know their interior line sucks but we should not be even rushing.
