Sign Allen and trade up (reasonably) for clowney.
Don't trade up in the top 10 for non-QBs.
Until we know who the HC, assistants and GM any speculation on who the Bucs are going to draft....particularly when a trade is included...is completely worthless.
Without knowing who the GM or Coach is how can anyone reasonably predict that a trade up for a player will happen?Mocks at this point are useless, FA hasn't happened, staffs are being built/tweaked, not all the prospects have actually declared (and some might not)What happens If Lovie is hired and brings Frazier on down from Minn to be his DC, I'd think that gives us the inside track on landing Jared Allen negating the need for Clowney and a trade up to get him, at that point the pick likely turn to an offensive player to help solve out 32nd ranked unit (as should be the case anyway IMO).

I'd say 32 year old free agents shouldn't affect what you do with top 10 picks. If the Bucs think Clowney can be a 10-year beast, you pick him whether you have Jared Allen or not.
Draft Clowney and fix the dline for a long time. Use the other picks for the oline.

In theory it shouldn't alter your pick & you take the best player that helps the most but what if you have a DE & a WR ranked equally in the draft, you have DE as need #1 for the team but signing that 32 yo DE lessen the need enough that WR becomes need #1 or they think the need is no long big enough that they have to risk taking Clowney and his love of fame (bust waiting to happen along with Manziel IMO).Your pick could switch from Clowney to Watkins based purely on how you rank you team needs after FA pickups happen.
If we trade up for Clowney there won't be any other picks of note. Not worth it!
So that would leave us with what, 2 or 3 total picks in the draft? No thanks.
There are 2 game,e changing players, manziel and clowney. I think were so close but yet so far for being able to get one of them.

Is it really not worth an elite Dline tho?
I would rather the Bucs sign Hardy than Allen since he is much younger. The Panthers will most likely lose Hardy since they are near the salary cap.
If Lovie is the guy , this wouldn't surprise me really. He's going to want a elite edge rusher at all costs. If we can't address it in free agency we may make the move in the draft.
Do you guys not like Hardy from Carolina or are you just assuming he never makes it out of Carolina?
Hardy already said he wants to go back and will take a hometown discount.
Honestly, I really like the players and our spot in the draft.I'd be very happy with Clowney, Barr, Mack, Watkins, Lee, Bridgewater, Bortles. I wouldn't even be mad about Manziel.
