Side by side roster comparisons show we still have holes. Reggie Mac has been stacking that team well in FA and the draft.
I'd say at QB it's a wash, eventually. Our Oline is is still a few steps behind. They move people and give Carr tons of time. We are weak at tackle. Thier skill positions on offense are so stocked. Having Crabtree and Cooper together should dispel any nonsense about having two #1 WR playing side by side. They are both monsters. At RB we would look better if we were healthy at starter, but we are so weak behind Martin. We are sorely missing the "jalen Richard" position. No speed. Walford and Rivera are both viable options and we only have parts of a TE in various players.
On D they loaded up on psss Rush drafting Calhoun and Ward with Irvin and Mack is how you address pass rush. They also addressed thier Safety spot well with Nelson and Joeseph.
It all falls in Licht's shoulders to get us over the hump. Attack our weakness' in the offseason, and don't make bone headed desicions. I'm sure we would all rather have Nelson and Bell then Aguyo, Conte and McDougald.
The FA pick ups Reggie has made have been huge. Irvin, Nelson, Amerson, Hudson, Penn, Crabtree, Osemele....all solid. And in the draft they hit on a lot of guys we talked about. Ward, Joeseph, Alexander, Watson, Jackson.
Bottom line....if we are to ever make a jump, it's on Licht's desk. This team is not poorly coached, we are poorly stocked.
