I doubt it's just a new helmet. Changing of the helmet could throw off the entire look of the uni. I have a feeling the uni is being updated as well.
A new sleek helmet would really stand out on current uni so my guess is that'll also get a make-over...

They then hired an outsider to be a GM and let Hickey walk without contesting his promotion.

I really liked the helmet design and all, it was just hard trying to match the jersey, pants and all with that pewter helmet, (the pewter pants never looked good). I think if anything the jersey should be changed to accommodate the pewter helmet.

A (rather useless) new NFL rule said that players were required to wear the same helmet year-round, and the Bucs apparently couldn't find a way to wrap the throwback style around the players' regular helmets. I would expect this year's helmets to address that, too.

Considering the grill will be "chromed out" I'd think that would mean that the helmet would either be white or red with a chrome pewter or red grill. The chrome grill wouldn't work with a pewter helmet.
