It's funny, at it's most basic application, the color black has always stood intimidation, the bad guy always wears black dating back to childhood cartoons. To that point myself, and I'm sure allot of us here would like that element on our team. Good guys wear white, and bad, mean, nasty guys wear black, it's physiological. Hence we clamor for black.

I would have sworn it would have been a white helmet so they could avoid violating the concussion rule and just swap decals for the throwback game.
Assuming the throwback debacle was the reason for the change... black makes zero sense. Nothing in the throwbacks was black.
Someone posted they may change/get rid of that silly rule they made last year about "only using 1 helmet" all year. <---- can you imagine the time to unpeel, then put new stickers on-- then repeating the process??!??!

Wow, agreeing with DJ twice in one day. That's a first.But I have to concur. I'm enjoying a refresh.Also, let's be honest. Our merchandise sales have been pitiful for years. Stores aren't even stocking them because stuff just doesn't sell. This could be good and encourage more diversified Bucs stuff.I just hope the changes aren't terrible.
From the info and tidbits I have gathered today, I think we can expect more chrome than just the face mask. I would guess that the logo will now have chrome in it. Perhaps the swords, perhaps a lot more. I also expect the actual uniform to have chrome accents. Personally I am not a fan of this. I think the chrome on unis looks tacky, and more importantly I think it will glare/blind our players when playing in RAYJAY in these 1:00 games with the sun blazing down. Just seems like a poor design decision and I won't be surprised if the chrome face masks are replaced after just one season. The helmet will be white. I am almost certain of that. They want something that can be used for the throwback cream cycles by simply swapping logo decals, so white makes sense. I am not a fan of this either. The pewter helmet is the one thing that sets us apart. It made us unique. From the sounds of it, pewter is being replaced by chrome and the helmet will be mostly white. I hope this is an incorrect assumption because I don't think I could ever like or support replacing Pewter with Chrome. We'll see. As far as the uniforms go, as I mentioned I think there will be chrome accents on the actual uniforms. The same guy that does the Oregon Ducks unis, did ours....so looking at some of their past unis kinda gives you a hint as to what to expect. Sapp mentioned a "fire & chrome" look. Not sure what that has to do with Buccaneers, but I expect very minimal black, with a lot of red and orange and white....with the chrome highlights. Overall I am not feeling good about it. I wanted an update for so long, but now I am worried the change is not going to be done well. I hope I wrong and I hope I love the new look....but right now I have this image stuck in my head of this really generic, tacky, college uniform that is trying way too hard to be cool.
