First and foremost, it was an awesome win and was thrilled to be there! Watching from the sidelines and not having the benefit of announcers' input, this is some of what I saw. these are comments outside of the obvious, namely Winston's good performance and Martin running like a man possessed.1) Missed in some of the other analysis after the game I heard, it was exciting to have a kicker do what Barth did after what we witnessed the past two weeks. Not only was he good on his field goals and PAT's, but only one of his kick-offs was returned. As this was a perceived weakness, would love to know what he did to work on this if he did. Having a good kicker is a vital aspect to any game. As well as we did, without him we might have lost this game. 2) Outside of Martin, our team needs speed. I love Rainey so don't take this wrong, but if he has speed, he breaks one or two of those returns for a touchdown. In the same vein, unless that safety has world class speed, there is no reason that Sims should not have scored on that screen pass. These guys gave all they had, so this is not criticism. We just need a guy or two who is faster.3) Did anyone else notice that the Jags scored both of their first two touchdowns on what seemed to be the exact same play? Where is the cover over the middle. On a related note, even as I applaud six sacks, on a great number of other plays, Bortles had all sorts of time. I'm hoping we can get more pressure while rushing just our front four AND the safeties or someone has to guard the middle of the endzone a whole lot better.4) The Jags were picking on Jennings (Verner's replacement) or Jenkins (sp) all game long. I hope we can get Verner back in there, and I would love a story on if the Bucs are planning on playing Verner at all once Banks comes back from his injury. Jenkins did not get the job done in my opinion even as I was impressed with Bortles composure and ability to make decisions on the run.5) Finally, that last deep pass completion was inexcusable. I don't know who caught it or who got beat, but the one thing we could not give up was the deep ball. If we make the Jaguars go down the field, then there's only 15 seconds left and the onside kick doesn't matter. As it was, you could feel the tension in the stadium before the kick as the game was not over yet. Let the receiver catch it if you have to but then tackle him and keep him in bounds after a 12 yard gain and fifteen seconds run off the clock. I want to check out the play on replay, but there looked to be three guys on the pass and not one of them made the play. If anyone can tell me what really happened, I'd appreciate it.Once again, it was a great ride home and we are 2-3. These are just some stories that might not grab the headlines.
