yeah, chemistry was being built.
The only chemistry this team had was UNIVERSALLY QUITTING on their HC after the bye (something happened during that stretch).
And, multiple players threw him under the bus at the end of the season.
But, hey!
He’s a super, duper nice guy! And, that’s what really matters!

Way to consider the... um... optics!

come on man, you didn't see all that chemistry
Was it not chemistry in the Patriots game when the Bucs D gave up a 72 yard TD pass at the end of the first quarter? What about when Henderson scored on 55 yard run and a 69 yard run in the second half?
Was it not chemistry when Cade Otton somehow came up with the worst play in NFL history converting a should be catch into a 50 yard pick six to go down 14-0 before we could finish our first beer that Sunday night game against the Rams?
Chemistry was abundant against New Orleans. We picked off Shough on their own 28 yard line. We converted that to....ugh 3 points. We then followed up with our opening 2nd half drive with an INT that led to a Saints go ahead touchdown.
You want to talk about chemistry! Look no further than that Atlanta Thursday night game! Bucs up 28-14, then up 28-20 ball at ATL 45 and INT thrown! Bucs defense looks like a bunch of statues around a fumble at the Bucs own 9 yard line only to allow a TD shortly there after. Not to worry, on the final drive, Cousins is sacked, fumbles, and alas we also don't recover. We have them at their own 29 on a 3rd and 28! they are toast! oh the chemistry....it just oozed with chemistry
How about Chemistry in that Panthers game! Right before half, fuck having a safety back, let's force them to sore a TD....we don't play for field goals here. We are driving, last drive, 2nd and 4 at the Panthers 37...we can atleast tie this game up. Oh whats that Egbuka? Who wanted to chemistry your way with a retarded false start? Baker...show him how its done....oh fuck INT
This chemistry is killing me. I am not going to lie. I feel awful. Certainly we can beat the Quinn Ewers led Dolphins team who quit? What's that Baker? 3 turnovers? Nice.
if this is what you call chemistry, please....i can't take anymore...
I see a few different outcomes for this team. The first is the most predictable one. The talent on the team carries them in the beginning when defenses and offenses are not in sync yet. When they are... the predictable nature of our team is a lot easier to coach and prepare for. After that's when you see the most frustration for fans and for the team. Coach looks confused af. We've seen this look a handful of times or two...
The next outcome is the less predictable one but I do think it's possible they do this. They put together the right kind of team that's talented, deep and smart enough to know when to stop listening to the hc and play football. The best teams have this and if the head coach is good guy it matters less about the x and os and more about running through a brick wall for a guy that has got your back too. I'm not sure we will see that kind of guy since if you remember he kind of threw the team under the bus last year. Bur like I said they can build a team that is smart. Knows when it's time to tune him out too.
Call it negative but we've seen more of the first happen and the second is kind of high hopes imo.

The problem is Licht needs to get those guys to be on the field with this team. The Suh, JPP, Brady, Gronk, etc.
Bucs need veteran leadership from outside the organization to kick these younger guys into higher gear.
Because we all know most of this coaching staff isn't coaching up anything as we saw with the collapse. If one of the units started to shine (offense, defense, ST) that would have lead to ONE EXTRA WIN which would have made the difference in winning the division. But that didn't happen.
So Licht's path forward is to stack talent as much as possible using EVERY CAP dollar and stop prematurely re-signing players to contracts until they prove their worth.

Exactly.
But, hey, “really super duper nice guy and other participation trophy bullshit”

Put it in the hall of shame right next to the Josh McClown fumbled snap, picks it up no laces and throws the funniest fucking pick I've ever seen.
