I didn't know much about the kid when we drafted him but after seeing his HS 5* rating, his speed, and his underutilization in college I gotta say... I'm a buyer.
Gage out for the year, he steps into the 3 and helps stretch the field with his electric speed.
Great find by Licht in the trade up to grab him.
Excited to see what he can produce as the 3 this year...
And yeah we all saw him torch Sauce which was awesome.
well we certainly need him to step up
we also have Deven Thompkins but the depth is not great at the position.
When Evans and Godwin are healthy, not a problem; but concerned if they miss time
Evans missed 2 games last year and 1 game the year before
Godwin missed 2 games last year and 3 games the year before. Hasn't played a full season since 2018.
I’ve been hyped on Palmer since he was drafted.
I think he can be a special player.
I'm not really sure why he left LSU, but I watched a handful of Nebraska games last season and he was the only player that stood out. He was pretty clearly an NFL player. I did a few mocks with him going to Tampa on Day 3. I liked the pick.
He's showing himself to be a very good R6 selection this preseason. Hopefully he will continue flash on offense and special teams.
I'm buying. He was a 6th round pick, so not a UDFA. Scotty Miller was drafted in the 6th Round and he worked out OK. I guess it depends on your own expectations, but he looks like the real deal to me, somebody who could be a WR3 deep threat.
I'm not really sure why he left LSU
Because his WR coach was hired by Nebraska and way less competition for reps
Kayshon Boute has looked respectable for the Patriots and they are starved for WR talent at the bottom of their depth chart. So it is not surprising that Palmer is talented and able to thrive as a former LSU product before going to Nebraska.
As a number 1 or 2 receiver….no. 3 or 4 I can see it.
He’s a pretty common story. He was a huge deal in HS. Two sport (football/track) athlete who was probably top 10 or top 25 prospect in the nation. Of course goes to LSU but probably for the first time there were other really good WRs so he was a return guy and also a WR but not the best, featured guy.
the coach he followed to Nebraska says he was a different guy at Nebraska because he had matured from the up/down experience at LSU and important he was “the guy” there.
we may have found a real gem. He might just capitalize on his opportunity. And man is he fast.
I think he can be more than a wr3. I view that as his "way too early to make predictions" floor.
Combo of confidence, speed, chip on the shoulder, and opportunity.
Season prediction:
35 catches, 700 yards, 6 tds.
With some special teams help as well.

I'll be happy if your prediction comes to fruition.
If we suck and shut down Evans/Godwin it could be more.
If we run it a ton it could be less...
Palmer is a mismatch nightmare for opposing defenses.
