for all the wrong reasons. >:( FML.
Those of you thinking Schiano didnt make/approve of this call need to pull your head out of the sand. At no level of football is a trick play run without the approval of the head coach.
Unless you're Dan Marino or Tom Brady.
Even those guys dont call trick plays. They have free reign over audibles, but doubt any of those are trick play check offs.

Fake spike is sorta kinda a trick play.

Sorta, and I would give you that one but Im willing to bet even Brady or Manning (the good one) dont get free reign to call a hook and ladder, statue of liberty, etc on their own.

Oh I agree with you for sure. My point was you would have to be elite for it to even be considered.

I once saw Peyton Manning call the annexation of Puerto Rico on his own.
I support the call, but it's on Page to diagnose the situation...if it's not there, don't run it. Lack of experience by the player, nothing more nothing less.
Manning pretty much is the offensive coordinator on the field, so I'm sure he calls whatever the hell he wants to.

If that is the case then this is 100% on coaching. Page should never be expected to make a last second call. If the coaches see that a play is there based on how the other team is playing coverage then you call the play. Otherwise, you don't just put it all on an undrafted basically rookie to make a last second decision on a trick play against one of the best teams in the NFL. That excuse holds no water.
