Washington wins if:
On offense Washington needs to spread out our defense to make for more manageable pre-snap reads. Spread out our LBs and Nickels. If makes us show blitz earlier and decreases the chance of surprise blitzes. They should also throw on first down to put Daniels in good passing situations. It may also catch us in some run blitzes, which will open up more passing lanes. They must be aggressive. If they try to establish the run early and fail, it makes it tougher for them as the game moves forward. Run misdirection and get Daniels out of the pocket. Our defense will more than likely miscommunicate and leave guys wide open on a few plays. And they don’t need to take long shots. We do a good job of taking away the long shots. They just need to be patient, and dink and dunk down the field in early down situations.
On defense Washington will have a tougher time. The Bucs offense will look different and have many more options than years past. Washington’s defense will need to prioritize stopping the run more than defenses have had to with the Bucs recently. They can’t let us consistently get into 2nd and 5 or 3rd and 2. If our running game gets going early, it will allow Baker to play to his strengths with play action; quick release short range shots; and taking a smart long shot when they are their to be had. If Baker has success early, it can be a big day for him. If they can get him pressing early, they can maybe force some errant throws.
Tampa Bay wins if:
On offense Tampa needs to run the ball successfully early. They can’t bang their heads against the wall with up the gut runs for a yard or two, just to do it (like last year). They need to mix the run in for success. Hopefully Godwin and Evans will get comfortable in their usual roles early and McMillan can surprise the defense with some intermediate receptions over the middle of the field. I also look for McVay types of quick screens to White and slot screens to Godwin and McMillan/Palmer multiple times throughout the game. Maybe even a TE screen???
On defense Tampa Bay will need to stay home and be disciplined. Don’t GIVE Washington any help. Meaning keep blown coverages to a minimum. Set the edge on the backside. And most of all… don’t over-compensate for lack of 4 more pass rush pressure, by blitzing too much. Find the right opportunities. Bring Winfield or a corner when they’re in a bunch or double tight formation. No reason to bring a 5th rusher every play. Let your coverage work behind you and keep things in front. Make Daniels beat you. Don’t make it any easier on him than it needs to be.
Turnovers and penalties will be key to the game.
We break the slow start trend, jump to a lead and then let the run game go!
I’m watching this Thursday night game. Two excellent defenses. Both get solid pass pressure with their front four. It allows you do a lot on defense.
I think we win if Buc’s Defense can contain Daniel’s/WAS running attack.
Buc’s O-line anllows our own run game to roll, which will open up Buc’s passing game to make chunk plays..oh and no Buc turnovers.

Excite to see it and it sounds like Coen is too:
“We’ve got to have different ways of hitting blocks each week because each defense gives you different things,” Coen said. “We’ve given these guys a lot – there’s a lot on their plates.
“Multiple different schemes – zone, gap, trap, pin-and-pull, whatever it is. We’re not going to just line up and be vanilla.”
Well Washington will spread it out and throw it deep, no doubt about that with Kingsbury as OC. Todd has a good handle on Kliff's offense im not too worried, if it was a Mcvay offense i would be. Knowing the air raid and rewatching the 2019 AZ offense he will take deep shots and keep it simple for his rookie qb like murray. He's not gonna force Daniels to think too much. Our main miscommunications and breakdowns culprits are last year - Neal, White, Mccollum. We have jsut mccollum now, and who knows maybe he understands the game better where there aren't breakdowns in zone. Will need to keep rush lanes and just push the pocket. Quinn always has a solid defense but I feel Coen is prepared.
