QB: Baker missed on that first pass, and was borderline elite after... Especially in the pocket

Offensive line: atrocious. Even Wirfs got beat a few times. They had their moments but overall we made Washington d line look borderline elite.

RB: Bucky and White played solid given what they had to work with. White was amazing in the passing game per usual. Bucky showed a little better vision running... But he may have had more to work with.

Wrs: elite against an awful secondary.

TE: F- for Orton. 2 penalties and did nothing.

Kicking: McLaughlin was elite. Nice to see him shake the yips.

Defensive line: played well short handed. JTS gonna have a nice contract year it seems.

LB: Solid but missed some tackles. Blitzes didn't get home.

Secondary: decent day with all the injuries. mcCollam with the concussion was unfortunate because he was playing well. Winfield missed some plays.

Offensive play calling: A- really impressive

Defensive play calling: C+ he kept blitzing and losing contain vs Daniels. Over and over.

MVP: Baker, JTS, Evans, Godwin

(Maybe I'm overrating JTS but he was very active)

  • Washington does have a tough interior DL as they are elite.
  • The rookies may be able to help this team become better this year (Irving, Barton, McMillan, Smith).
  • Godwin and Evans are going to feast in this style of offense.
  • Pass rush will be better than most think this year.

I wouldn't even say Wirfs got beat, maybe lazy at times, no way Ferrell should beat wirfs. Otton actually did show up to me, i was watching his blocking much better at the POA great strides from last year

Otton did have 1 nice block I saw. Maybe I missed the rest.

He doesn't get enough separation for being undersized in weight.

Wirfs was surprising. The line is a pretty big concern for me but I guess I forgot how good Washington's front 4 are...

we looked great, but we played one of three worst teams in the league with virtually no offense apart ftom QB scrambles, so I wouldn't overreact

apart from that we might run out of CBs

P.S. Mike's first TD was great 😀

well, we were only 3.5-4 point favorites on home turf so i would say we could not have asked for a better performance in week 1.

this reminded me more of the team clicking on all cylinders during our second half run last year.  that's comforting to see and looked great with new OC; would say we didnt miss a beat, but that offense yesterday was on fire

clearly Detroit will be a tough test this week but certainly feel we have a fighters chance

and agreed, the CB depth was a concern for me this offseason.  not sure what management was thinking when building the roster there this offseason.

This was great to see:

Mayfield's favorite target was Godwin, who hauled in eight passes for 83 yards and the four-yard score in the third quarter that gave the Bucs a 16-point lead. Seven of Godwin's eight catches resulted in first downs, including four that converted third downs in the first half.

"Chris feels really good right now," said Mayfield. "Physically he feels good, and just this offense, it plays to his strengths. He's always been a smart football player. He's willing to do whatever the coaches are going to ask, but this is now his opportunity to really shine, get back to [where he was] at least. He's always been a stud. Chris looks really good."

Godwin finally seems to have recovered from the knee injury. Good burst. Great to see.

agreed

and at least so far they are playing to his strengths.

I think Godwin is right that this offense could be “dominant”

He's def much better in the slot. Huge on those third downs.
