The problem is play calling... You keep excusing it but it's the truth.

I mean, to each their own but how are 2025 losses about play calling BUT the putrid offensive production during the three 2024 "no Evans games, no Godwin" games were about . . .no Evans and Godwin? The scoring dropped off a cliff for those 3 games so are you saying that Coen forgot how to call plays for three games?  When we played the 49ers last season were you on the board posting "BUT WE'VE GOT WHITE AND OTTON and they are WEAPONS?"

How do you reconcile those two inconsistent concepts?

Come on man.

Great post.

This offense with last year's team wouldn't be 500

Last year’s coaching with this year’s players wouldn’t be .500 either.

So why are the Patriots doing more with less?

I think we are watching different seasons lmao.

The "terrible" Bucs OC led the offense to produce one of the highest scores against a NE defense this season, even with two bobo guards and one starting receiver. Far from perfect, but the new England defense is GOOD or has certainly played well up to this point. Top 10 in scoring averaging, 19 points per game.  We put up 23. Part of that is running for 120 yards on a defense that gave up an average of only 76 per game before. Many on 1st down -- haha

The offense works. I am just saying it works DESPITE having a shuffled o-line all season, an RB2 and RB3 (no RB1) the WR3 now WR1 and two back ups.  Its a credit to the OC that Tez is doing what he is doing (as well as Tez).  2 of his TDs were screens? hes a 7th rounder. If you read either POR post game article you will see two different PR people highlight Mayfield's near obsessive throwing to Egbuka and Egbuka alone.  That is NOT an offense and not just the play calling. That is a big part of the slump in the middle

But, we lost to the Patriots because they made all the splash plays. What exactly is the probability of a 70 yard td etc? The defense actually played okay against Maye (look at his stats), but let a few BIG plays out. Thats why we lost.

Your analysis is always paper thin.

We lost the Patriots for a variety of reasons. The biggest reason being the second drive when we were at midfield and ran a bunch of vanilla bullshit while Baker stared down Egbuka.

Then another forced punt and the offense goes 3 and out. Then another 3 and out.

Then we move the ball and Grizz goes hyper conservative inside the 30, including the worst play call of the game: 3rd and 9 screen to Sheppard.

This game is yet another example of the offense leaving the defense out to dry when we can take control of the game.

Last year we would have killed for these stops...

Offense can't sustain a drive for 3 straight drives completed flipped the game. Baker of course was partially to blame but the play calling was still DOGSHIT.

On defense we watched our shit linebackers be slow as fuck. We saw a rookie get abused by a blocking wr. We saw an average line control our below average defensive line sans Vea. Smith played atrocious.

But the defense did what it needed to do. Patriots defense isn't nearly as good as it looks statistically. They've played an all time cupcake schedule.

Agreed.

let me ask you this:

do you think it's coincidence that we put up 100 plus rushing yds on the Patriots 73 yard rushing defense IN THE GAME WE GET GOEDEKE BACK?

unless that's just coincidence then add it the cumulative impact of Goedeke, Mauch, Evans, Godwin, Irving, JMac...

you can add back Egbuka and even Tez, but that's still a lot of offense.

or Otton right? He has a big day today? He's almost nothing in the offense early in the season because he's in blocking. Less blocking now because ... both Tackles are back.

you honestly think our offensive output today is the same if we have Irving, Godwin and HOFer Evans?

Efficient with words and accurate, yes.  Paper thin, no.

Last season are signature running play was the pony package. I don't think we've run it once this season.

why?

Grizz didn't like it or personnel?

You've said this multiple times, as if it's some "Gotcha" mic drop moment.

Coming into today, what's the success rate been on 1st down runs for the season?

not a mic drop, a joke because the game day thread had a bunch of (silly) cackling about 1st down runs ... as we were running for 11, 11, 13 etc

i can get the success rate but if you know it post it? I only know at this moment that 1st down runs were not a negative today

In 2024 this loss would be a "fire Bowles" loss. I guess in 2025 it's fire Grizz?

I think the Patriots defense is massively overrated.

The offense still looked like shit with all those rushing yards.

I've been debating that name change. I'll do it if he shits the bed next week 😉

Fire, you're better than that JC-style response. I will just assume you agree that Goedeke's return mattered
