Head coaches dont usually survive this kind of review lol
"“It is the single worst loss that any team has suffered this entire NFL season,” Schrager said, incredulous at the outcome. “You consider the stakes and what was at cost? That’s an eliminated team already, the Atlanta Falcons. They’re playing without Drake London, their best wide receiver. …
“A hard, hard loss. They were up 14 points in the fourth quarter to a team that’s already been eliminated at home and, oh, by the way, the Falcons had 19 penalties last night.
“Inexplicable! If you’re a Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan, you are sick.”
Hope they keep him.
Absolute cash cow Thursday night.

You don't start 5-1 and then miss the playoffs. Not many coaches survive that.
the only way he saves his job is if they sweep the Panthers, make the playoffs, and somehow win their first round match-up.
Put the odds like this
1. If Bucs make playoffs and win first round match-up - his rant worked and Bucs retain Bowles another year - 100% odds
2. If Bucs make playoffs and lose first round match-up, but a competitive game - 50% odds he retains his job
3. If Bucs make playoffs and lose first round match up, get their asses kicked - 33% odds he retains his job.
4. If Bucs miss playoffs and go 9-8, but lose tiebreaker, 10% odds he retains his job.
5. If Bucs miss playoffs and finish with losing record, 0% odds he retains his job.
if they sweep the Panthers,
I dont know how they win the first Panther matchup let alone sweep
offensively we should be much better
defensively? I mean we could probably put an offense together on this message board and complete a few passes against this defense

yes I agree with both of those points and like @seekpar posted if I am the Panthers I throw at McCollum all day.
On parer, maybe they matchup okay BUT teams dont often win when they are in this kind of disarray because the players are more aware than anyone that they have guys not trying, freelancing etc and that is the death knell for a defense
Watch the last offensive drive. We need another first down. SEASON IS ON THE LINE.
We run Irving left on first down and lose 4. HE IS HIT IN THE BACKFIELD ALMOST AS SOON AS HE RECEIVES THE HANDOFF.
Watch the play.
Irving is hit in backfield because our LG whiffs . . whiffs . . on a freaking run block. We look like we are runing a mid-zone play and our LG must be thinking that if he goes left at the snap the D-lineman will follow him? WTF? The D-lineman just stands there, Jordan vacates and he goes right through
Say whatever you want about injuries, just dont say they dont matter at all. They do.
I dont see how a team with that kind of liability as a starter on offense (Feeney on the other side lol) and a defense in disarray pull out a win in Carolina. And we are already kicking off into the end zone to avoid run backs lol

injuries matter but there wont be any year that injuries dont happen so it's part of the game.
in 2020, we lost Vita Vea for most of the year and OJ Howard (who was actually half decent to this point) for the entire year. Godwin missed 4 games as well. Didn't we lose Alex Cappa for the year as well. The team was able to overcome
in 2021, Fournette missed time, Godwin had season ender, Gronk missed 4 games, AB did whatever the hell he did, LVD, AWJ, the entire secondary missed half the year. We had a franchise high 13 wins
in 2022, we will not talk about this year; albeit Bowles and Grizz doing their best to also make 2025 a forgettable one
in 2023, a relatively healthy year. The secondary did their thing with their 4-5 games missed per year but ultimately relatively healthy
in 2024, que Chris Godwin injury. Mike Evans and AWJ as well. Dean with his typical 4-5 games missed. Kancey not being healthy, what a surprise.
so while 2025 was more than typical, look no further than the Eagles who lost their QB having an MVP type year with back-up Nick Foles stepping in and they still won. If any team had an excuse to buckle, it was them.
so we are not at 100%, i get it...but to lose to double digit loss teams back to back at home in must win scenarios. Damn man. that's sickening

Obviously injuries are part of the game, but the MAGNITUDE of injuries absolutely matters.
Fans try to have it both way all the time. Substantial injuries are "part of the game" in 2025, but then relative health in 2024 is discounted as a contributing factor to success? Part of the great offensive success in 2024 is an offensive line that is largely intact much of the year and Bucky Irving versus 2025 where we are starting the season by shuffling everyones positions lmao and we lose at the same time Evans, McMillan, Godwin and Irving.
In another thread you are saying "look at the Patriots." Well, there coaching has ben great and they have talent BUT its is alos true that until November the Patriots avoided most major injury, right? They just lost their FIRST ROUND LT (Campbell) and Milton, but before that largely healthy. Last season the Patriots were absolutely racked by injuries and most notably . . along their lines.
NFL success requires talent, coaching AND good fortune because the teams are all so close to each other.
in 2024, que Chris Godwin injury. Mike Evans and AWJ as well. Dean with his typical 4-5 games missed.
Injuries are only individual when they are limited. When the injuries are substantial the impact is CUMULATIVE.
When both Evans and Godwin are out in 2024 the offense goes DOWN, DOWN and DOWN (26 points, 24 points, 20 points) and that is WITH a line largely in tact and WITH Bucky Irving and WITH McMillan stepping up AND OTTON.
None of those factors exist this year when Godwin, Evans, Irving. McMillan and the core of the line and Mayfield get injured. The only counter is Egbuka. He's immediately DOUBLED.
OTTON IS THE KEY of this point though. Just look at Otton's targets THIS SEASON. They are 3-4 in the first 5 or 6 games because the line is so decimated he's in blocking. So the runnign. game and the passing game falter not just "we lost 2 catches because Otton is out." Injuries are not INDIVIDUAL they are cumulative

problem is that injuries were no excuse for the last 2 games. We had superior rosters even with the injuries, more to play for, at home, had leads in the game in the 3rd quarter and somehow still lost. Something is way off with this team, almost super natural like
If you go back and watching Mayfield's bad throw behind Egbuka, one reason that play is going to work with a better pass is that the Falcons are in man and Egbuka and Evans are on the right. Evans motions OUTSIDE of Egbuka to the right. What happens? That moves Dee Alford (?) on Egbuka, instead of AJ Terrell who goes with Evans as the TOP THREAT. It also pulls the safety to Evans while Egbuka is running away. If the pass is on target he gets the first and maybe more, but the game is basically over.**
The CUMULATIVE IMPACT of injuries and health. Egbuka is good, but even better when a team like the Falcons has to cover Evans with its best corner and safety over the top and Godwin running underneath.
** the biggest argument for Bowles getting fired is that his relatively healthy defense is the problem of the season since the slump and part of that is EFFORT.
Unfortunately, this is now where I am now.if they sweep the Panthers,
I dont know how they win the first Panther matchup let alone sweep
Grizz struggled with all the returning talent, that might have improved with a week of practicing with those starters - Grizz then he has to rely on the defense to get some consistent stops.
Defensively, we struggle to stop a run game. If we don’t score fast and stay a couple of TD’s ahead, we don’t win this game. If they start pounding the run game effectively before we can get a lead, we don’t win this game.
why the heck am i feeling confident Bucs will win
of course if they play like they did in the 4th quarter, the defense couldn't stop the pewter report message board from getting into field goal position.
but i am factoring in offense being better, putting up 28-35 points and the defense being just a tad better than 4th quarter.
idk....3 point favorites on the road. Panthers also stink.
again, talking strictly this Sunday and not how we would fair in playoffs
