It’s a tough day for Tampa Bay fans. Chris Godwin has been one of my favorite players since we drafted him, and seeing him in obvious pain was heartbreaking—not just for us, but especially for him. It was a fluke injury, and I can’t place blame on anyone; it’s just unfortunate for the team.

Mike needs to take the time to fully heal. I understand his desire to maintain his streak of 1,000-yard seasons, but he’s making it harder for himself by trying to push through. Prioritizing his health will ultimately benefit both him and the team.

I get that the tone of the game shifted after Evan’s injury and the dropped play, but let's not give the defense any excuses. I’ve had some time to calm down since last night, yet I still feel that the defense was HORRIBLE. Just before Evans’ injury, they allowed a long drive from the Ravens that felt like we were playing with nine men on the field. It resembled a practice drill against air. Aside from the first drive, our defense seemed overmatched from the start.

When Bowles’ defensive game plan is bad, it’s as bad as anything in football. There are games where it wouldn’t matter who’s playing edge, corner, or linebacker—the scheme is just that ineffective. Players were wide open, and Lamar Jackson had multiple options on RPOs that he could have exploited all options. Bowles pulls out a good game from time to time, but unfortunately, the bad games are too frequent and too damaging.

On the other hand, Coen had a pretty solid game plan. We moved the ball effectively.  It's not easy to call plays when down big, but his balance between run and pass was commendable.

Baker had a decent outing but can’t afford to throw those two costly interceptions. He needs to resist the urge to make up for mistakes in a single play and practice more patience when things aren’t going well.

Lastly, the Ravens are a strong team for a reason; they have excellent coaching and playmakers. We aspire to be a good team too, but last night showed we’re not quite there yet. I hear fans saying, “This was supposed to be the second year of our rebuild,” but it’s still frustrating. We have the pieces to make a good run, but I’m doubtful that Bowles can deliver with his current defensive approach. It’s surprising how quickly a team can go from 4-2 to 4-6 in the NFL. The only dominant offensive performance the Falcons have had this year was in our first meeting. The Chiefs may not be firing on all cylinders right now, but they’ll likely beat us easily, and the 49ers will be coming off a bye week. Plus, next year, we’ll be without our best offensive coach, Coen. It’s astonishing how quickly things can unravel.

The score was 34-10; both the offense and defense sucked

with both Godwin and Evans out, this team will resemble the 2022 squad struggling to put up 20 for the foreseeable future

@badabingbucs - offense wasn’t good. But our Defense is a joke. We’ll score points with Coen’s scheme, but not enough to outscore opponent offenses.

Maybe this shocks the front office into going after an edge and a corner (receiver anyone)?

Not sure how we outscore anyone now that our 1a & 1b are out?

Refit the defense and maybe we keep swinging…otherwise, wow. I can’t remember a more devastating one game turnaround…

Just, wow.

i think the front office just waves the white flag this year and rolls with what they have.

The trading deadline is Nov 5th. Let's see if i am wrong.

You aren't going to get a WR that can does what Godwin goes

someone mentioned DeAndre Hopkins who we admit is cooked, but maybe provides a veteran presence and still has shown some signs of life - a 7 reception, 73 yard game about a month ago

Odell Beckham also a waste of time but could Miami trade him?

someone mentioned Mike Williams on the Jets but they appear to be going all in at a pathetic 2-5 record.

Jerry Jeudy on the Browns?  They already unloaded Cooper?

i mean there ain't much out there.

I was going to make a rant thread of my own but might as well add to this. Last night was one of the worst games I’ve seen in a while. The combination of getting dominated & the continued number of injuries was just too much. I’m not pinning Godwin’s injury on Bowles because if he didn’t get hurt no one would be saying, he should’ve pulled the starters. I was def concerned with how effective Mike would be in that game & we got the worse possible outcome. Honestly things went downhill for me when Mike was ruled out because I knew we wouldn’t be as potent on offense.

One thing that is not being talked bout is the fact that bad Baker has been showing his face for a couple of games this season. Consecutive multiple ints are starting to become a thing & it’s concerning. That first int killed all the momentum we had, it was just a stupid throw especially since Bucky was right in his face for an easy touchdown. The play before his second int, Baker forced it to Godwin in double coverage & got lucky. Second time around it was a pick. Baker gets happy feet in the pocket & starts trying to play hero ball way too often. Things need to change.

Lastly, it’s time to move on from Bowles. He’s reached his ceiling, and I am tired of the same shit everytime we play a legit team on prime time. Exotic blitzes are all fun & cool when you’re getting to the QB but when you’re not it is a disaster. Idk why Britt is still starting let alone still on the field on passing downs especially after the Atlanta game. Bowles stubbornness to make critical adjustments is just tiresome at this point. I’ve been banging the table for us to go after a legit pass rusher but we know that probably wont happen. Just like we probably wont trade for anyone this year. Also, I know Liam was been doing a great job this year, but to automatically assume he’ll be a head coach next year is a bit of a stretch. We aren’t the only team that has a solid OC. Ben Johnson & Bobby Slowik lead that race. I know canales left after one yr but that’s because he’s buddy got the GM job. Looking at it now, he’s a worse HC than he was a OC.

Actually on second thought, Godwin’s injury is definitely on Bowles. I didn’t know the Ravens pulled their starters cuz I stopped watching midway through the third. The only silver lining (if you want to call it that) is that Chris probably wont cost as much next year. Today fucking sucks

BucsWin31 -

Thanks adding your rant here.  I hear you about Baker and it’s something he needs to get a handle on quickly.  But I don’t think the offense is our problem.

Our offense has scored 37, 20, 7, 33, 30, 51, and 31 points in games this year.  The outlier being the Broncos game (7).  We’ve scored 20+ points… 6 out of 7 games.

Our defense has allowed 20, 16, 26, 16, 36, 27, and 41.  We’ve held opponents to under 20… 2 out of 7 games.

Since the 2nd half of our 2021 season, our defense has routinely been gashed, allowing QBs their best stat games of the year.  This year we’ve already done that for Bo Nix, Kurt Cousins, and Lamar Jackson.  Many times if our blitz packages doesn’t work, we get throttled.  We don’t disrupt routes.  We hardly play man coverage.  We’re basically a bring 5 or 6 pass rushers and play soft zone (cover 3 or 4) coverage.  Now I love how we played the Lions this year, with minimal blitzing, putting 7 in coverage, and gang tackling after underneath passes.  But we hardly ever play that scheme.  Moreso, because we can’t pressure the QB with just 4 rushing.

well i mean, he's likely a franchise tag candidate.

after we see how bad we struggle without him, the Bucs will gladly do it

They won’t do it during the season (unfortunately), but he’s gone after this year.

Time to move on from his incompetence.

@ehinote

I completely agree the offense is not a problem but the ints are becoming a little too frequent. The problem with the defense is personnel & scheme, which is why Bowles needs to go. Sending exotic blitzes cannot be your bread & butter. You should want to be able to get pressure wit 4 guys, and if you cannot you should try to find guys that can via draft, FA, or trade. We have tried a ton in draft but it’s hard to get IMPACT pass rushers when you’re picking in the lower part of the draft. We gotta trade for someone, you can have all the draft capital you want but if you whiff on a player then that value goes down the drain. We got too many JAGs on this team. We need some more DAWGS. KJ Britt is not a starting caliber LB why is he still being trotted out there by our defensive “guru”?

Jackson had 5 incompletions and 5 TD passes last night. After their first drive, they made it look easy for the most part. It was fucking embarrassing to be sitting in a bunch of Ravens fans while their offense trapsed up and down the field with little resistance from the Bucs defense. The Bucs just don't have the personnel and schemes to stop a top flight NFL offense. The Bucs offense is noticeably impotent without Evans on the field. Now Godwin is likely gone for the season. If you can't stop the opponent's offense, and your own offense can't produce, that's not a formula for success. This is only going to get more ugly before it gets better.
