Jon Ledyard via Twitter:

"100%. Ridiculous divide between their offense and defense right now. Not sure any offense has been better coached, and I’m more sure no defense has been worse coached"

Coen continues to impress, especially with how multiple his run game is.

Bowles had his team ready to play, so he gets credit for that. His team played well enough to win. Unfortunately, he’s a gutless dinosaur that doesn’t learn from his mistakes as HC. It was both hard to believe and completely predictable when he trotted the XP team out there.

Andy Reid, asked if he was surprised that Todd Bowles didn’t go for two after their late touchdown. “No … But I’m glad he didn’t.”

Sums it all up.

Yeah, it’s hard to believe that any HC wouldn’t go for two there. If you told a random HC that they had to get a couple yards to win the game as a huge road dog and you had KC on their heels vs. risk giving Mahomes the ball in OT, I’d guess 95% of them would go for it. But we’re lucky enough to have a ginormous coward making those decisions, and his personal leghumper defending it ad nauseam.

I’m glad to see he’s catching shit for it with the local and national media.

I expect nothing less from the Barstool Barrister.

Game was a lot closer than I expected. But, yeah it showed that Bowles doesn't have the killer instinct to close games out. This game was 1 of MANY of his career where he failed to show some balls in crunch time. He will never be a super bowl winning HC with his in-game decision making. After several years of coaching under Bruce Arians you'd think he'd learn by now. Its 2024, we have to get with the times or get left behind and passed up. As good as Bowles can be at times for his defensive calls, he is replaceable due to his shit game management skills.

Tood Bowles said he gave "very minor" thought to going for two after the late touchdown. Cited wet field conditions and thought they could win in overtime.

WINNER! Joke of the Month Club! And it's only the 5th of the month.

if you lose in OT. It came down to a coin toss, if we’d won it, I think we score just as methodically.

There's a big difference between driving the field or having one shot from the 2-yard line.

You're on the road. Against the SB champs. Nearly 10 point dogs. Another short week conference game coming up.

You go for the win.

PREACH IT! I thought the very same thing before they even scored the TD. Fucking go for it and win the fucking game Dan Campbell style! But I also knew that gutless Todd would shrivel up and kick the XP. Chicken Shit call!

Tony and Joe were literally saying the same thing prior to the TD, when the timeout was called.

Let the season play out and show him the door in January.

"The Bucs had 3 possibilities vs. the Chiefs:

1. Go for 2 after the TD & decide the game right there.

2. Win the coin toss & be forced to drive the whole field for a TD.

3. Lose the coin toss & give the best QB in the world the ball on home turf.

Only one choice made sense."

You would expect they would’ve too. Before they even started the drive you would think they would have decided - and maybe they did- what they would do if they scored?

Bowles said he gave “very minor” thought to going for it. He must mean that he has decided BEFORE the drive that if they scored they were going XP? It’s not like that’s a score - what do we do now scenario. In fact, you’d expect that they have a go to play etc.

It most certainly was.

What’s crazy, is that you still have some posters giving him a pass and continue to adamantly defend him.

What’s crazier, is that they’re literally the same ones who did it for Lefty, Devin White, etc.

We're in a dilemma. We cannot afford to lose Coen... We aren't going to sacrifice Bowles.

I'd love to think we will keep him but we just let Canales walk after one season and he's half as good as Coen.

I get it, he had a chance to steal one and we took our foot off the gas, but there are no guarantees.

Bowles either bet on his defense, or the coin toss.

Missed it by that much.

Bowles is a DC/defensive minded coach.  He bet on his defense.  He probably always will.

I watched Marty Schottenheimer do the exact same thing for almost 10 years.  Drove me up the freaking wall.  Now, to be fair, it worked a lot of the time, when he actually had one of the best defenses in the league.  But when he didn't, or when his defense just wasn't playing that well that day, he stuck to his guns, which was maddening.  It also never worked in the playoffs.  But He couldn't see what was painfully obvious to even the casual fan.  Until Montana came to town.  And even then, Joe had to go to the sideline and argue with Marty during a TO to get Marty to change his mind.

I checked the team stats and the boxscore from last night, and I did some research for TB's defensive performances over the last 4 games prior to last night.  Bowles defense has given up over 20-pts per 2nd half on average over those four games, and last night (including OT) they gave up 20 pts after HT.  Last night the defense had been on the field for 73 snaps before OT.  33 snaps of that in the 4th quarter alone.  Iirc, last season the NFL average for defensive snaps was in the mid-60s for an entire game.  The Chiefs offense had the ball for over 18 minutes in the 2nd half.  Over 40 minutes for the entire game.

Coen's offense scored 17 points in the second half, 3/5 drives.

I'm not a football coach, only ever was an asst coach for a HS soccer team for two season, but I would've put the ball in Coen's/Baker's hands and went for the 2=pt conversion, because my defense looked gassed.  Ymmv
