It's simple. Both defenses were gassed. That's why you go for 2.
It's not that complicated. If bigg and I agree on something you know it's right.

I think everyone agrees with you two on that, right? I dont honestly understand how you dont come to that conclusion in real time at the game.
I went and looked to try to find a way to you might reach the XP answer as a principle andit would be this . . This season 2 point conversions are 31% (but 55% normally). So, you could at least argue - but only if your remove all the external factos like fatigue, momentum, house $ etc - that better odds to flip a coin to get the ball on offense?
Not my argument, just trying to think how someone who follows analytics, for example, might justify it.
Bowles could not, with a straight face, think the defense was his best option. So, if you accept that as true the ony thing I could come up with is "2 point conversions are 31%"
In the rain, the PAT isn't a lock either
In the rain, the PAT isn't a lock either
agreed thats what made it really crazy because I think he referenced the wet conditions as a reason to go for the XP
Why the hell would Bowles bet on his defense? Sure, they were playing better vs KC, but were absolutely shredded by BAL and ATL the previous two games. The Bucs defense was on the field for way longer than the KC defense in regulation. Bowles expected his defense to come out and play lights out vs Mahomes & Co? KC with Mahomes is historically superior to their opponents in games that go to OT. Yes, I would have been disappointed if the Bucs went for 2 and failed. But at least they would have gone down trying to win the game. Instead, they depended on Mayfield to call a 50/50 coin toss, and hand the ball to the best QB in the universe. You could tell from Mayfield's reaction he knew the game was over at that very moment.
What a game. Was very impressed with Coen's playcalling and the offense's performance, especially given the conditions/circumstances. 17 points on the Chiefs defense in the 2nd half. In Arrowhead, on MNF. That's the most points Spags' defense has given up in the 2nd half of any game this season by 5 points (SF scored 12 earlier this season). I don't know if you guys understand, the Chiefs defense has been the best 2nd-half defense in the NFL for something like 28 games now. And to score a game-tying TD on the final drive? Coen/Baker really had Spags guessing.
Coen and Baker are the real deal. Hats off to the Bucs offense. All my Chiefs buddies were in agreement; best offensive performance we've seen vs. the Chiefs defense in a very long time.
"The Bucs had 3 possibilities vs. the Chiefs:
1. Go for 2 after the TD & decide the game right there.
2. Win the coin toss & be forced to drive the whole field for a TD.
3. Lose the coin toss & give the best QB in the world the ball on home turf.
Only one choice made sense."

Darlington Boy Genius! Excellent post!
It most certainly was.
What’s crazy, is that you still have some posters giving him a pass and continue to adamantly defend him.
What’s crazier, is that they’re literally the same ones who did it for Lefty, Devin White, etc.
Shamelessly clueless
