Great call on that screen TD to Kelce.
Chiefs 17-0 in their last 17 one score games.
That was when the KC defense was whole. Lost Justin Reid to FA, and tonight lost three starters on defense to injuries. i mean, 'never say never' when talking about Mahomes, but i think KC is in real trouble, and I'm not talking about just this game.
Chargers giving them a gift.
WTF was that call on defense?
And, that should do it.
Herbert was OUTSTANDING tonight.

Herbert was OUTSTANDING tonight.
Meh. he faced almost no pressure for most of the game. Chris jones got dinged on the knee in thefirst LAC drive and it showed the rest of the night. Omenihu didn't do anything, and the only times the KC defense actually got pressure was when Spags sent multiple extra rushers. At which point, Herbert's looked like ass. he looked decent, but "great"? Not really.
he played well enough to win. For the first time in four years. We'll see how he plays next time.

We'll agree to disagree.

Dude wut?
Not only did he play lights out against a very good defense + an offense that just milks the clock... He did it with zero run game and with a handful of drops again including a 4th TD.
He made the game winning play on third and long...
This is a crazy take... Herbert showed why he is a top 6 QB.
That 2nd down call was bad and Herbert should know not to take a sack. But he atoned for that mishap and made a nice third down run that sealed the game. Herbert looks very good in an offense that actually allows him to have mismatches and looks to be more comfortable in year 2 of it too.

He took the sack because he wanted to force a timeout. An incompletion would be disastrous. That's why you typical run it there or throw a screen.
Man, these week one games are 0 for 2 from a quality football standpoint. I am super glad the Chargers won but, the game was a difficult watch. No one likes the Chiefs.
I expect to see rust but, damn. Harbaugh undefeated on openers??

I disagree. Both games were close. That's all you can ask for...

Exactly.
On a side note, if I'm Fangio, I'm having a separate meeting with my defensive backs and telling them to absolutely nuke Mahomes if he is running for the sideline.
Kermit opened Pandora's Box with that little stunt.
