Possible Trading Options for Mike Glennon by Jesse Uruchima 1h ago  Glen_Zps3Hhgql1D.jpgOct 5, 2014; New Orleans, LA Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Mike Glennon against the New Orleans Saints during the second quarter of a game at Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY SportsAs of right now, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are most likely going to take Jameis Winston a quarterback in this year’s draft. It appears to be the right move for the franchise, however, their free agency pick-ups have not included an offensive lineman to protect the potential No. 1 draft pick. The team could be heavily relying on the draft to fill the necessity at that position. Nonetheless, action needs to be taken to fill the gap or else the 2015 season will become a work-in-progress season. While the Buccaneers have a plethora of other skill position players to use as trading chips, there may be more value in trading a quarterback, specifically, Mike Glennon. This made us think of a few teams who are in need of a quarterback and could use his services. In return, the Bucs can add some solid value. Some teams may view Glennon as a potential future asset, given his age (25 years old) or a gap filler, given the early-veteran experience. At this point, Glennon would be inexpensive since he has two years left on his rookie contract and his youth offers a fresh start to any team. Here are a few interesting offers the Bucs could pursue as the draft approaches. But there’s no need to force the issue because the Bucs could always keep Glennon as a solid back-up.Glen2_Zpsgafnkgpf.jpg2015 3rd Round PickThe best trading partner in this area would be the Cleveland Browns. Without jeopardizing their future, the Browns can trade their 77th overall pick for insurance. Cleveland gets some quarterback depth with the addition of Glennon and the Bucs can either trade the third-rounder for multiple picks in the later rounds or use it to acquire additional offensive line help.Glen3_Zpszqlydgij.jpgJonathan Cooper, G, CardinalsThe Bucs would like to draft young, promising offensive linemen, but they can also acquire experience to protect their potential rookie quarterback. The Arizona Cardinals want to win now while developing for the future. Carson Palmer’s health is an issue every season and their best option would be to get Mike Glennon. The Cardinals could trade their 2013 first overall pick guard Jonathan Cooper. Cooper has had an up and down career so far dealing with injuries, however, it makes sense to give the 6-foot-2, 311-pound North Carolina product a start fresh with a new team and Bucs can reap the rewards.Glen4_Zpsp8Dhpyli.jpgOct 5, 2014; Nashville, TNTennessee Titans wide receiver Justin Hunter (15) catches a pass against Cleveland Browns defensive back Buster Skrine (22) during the first half at LP Field. Don McPeak-USA TODAY Sports Justin Hunter, WR, TitansThe Titans would be wise to draft a quarterback with the number 2 overall pick, however, they may want to bolster their defensive line with Dick LeBeau now at the helm. This is where USC’s Leonard Williams comes in. The 6-foot-5, 302-pound defensive end is a can’t miss player. The Bucs can dangle the talented Glennon in exchange for the Titans’ Justin Hunter. Given his age (23), talent and size (6-foot-4, 203 pounds), Hunter would be hard for Tennessee to give up, but if the Williams comparison to J.J. Watt is true, then the price is only fair for Glennon. Plus, the Buccaneers need to start preparing for life without the 32-year-old Vincent Jackson. Mike Evans has clearly established himself as a No. 1 receiver. Hunter has the potential to be the Robin to Evans’ Batman at wide receiver.Glen5_Zpsxgynpebq.jpgDecember 21, 2014; Oakland, CA Buffalo Bills tackle Seantrel Henderson (66) blocks Oakland Raiders defensive end Justin Tuck (91) during the third quarter at O.co Coliseum. The Raiders defeated the Bills 26-24. Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports Seantrel Henderson, OT, BillsThe Bills have made huge moves to build up really talented team, but their quarterback position appears to be on thin ice this season. EJ Manual’s job in jeopardy. Matt Cassel’s role considered to be a short-term solution. The Bucs can offer Glennon for one of their talented offensive linemen, like the 6-foot-7, 331-pound Seantrel Henderson. The former Miami Hurricane has turned into a promising talent which could make it difficult for Buffalo to part ways with him. But if there’s one thing the Bucs can relay to the Bills organization, it’s the importance of having a solid option under center.Glen6_Zpst1Spleth.jpgD’Brickashaw Ferguson, OT, JetsThe Jets are a team with little faith in anyone they have at the quarterback position. The organization’s faith in Geno Smith may be waning. Ryan Fitzpatrick could have career resurgence playing for offensive coordinator Chan Gailey once again, but new coach Todd Bowles may want to look for someone new that he can build his future around. Have you met our friend, Mike Glennon?D’Brickashaw Ferguson, 6-foot-6, 310-pounds, is set to make huge cap figures and could be at risk of getting cut after the 2015 season. At 31, Ferguson is getting up there in age, but he is a proven talent who can be a bridge for the next two seasons as one of their younger linemen learns the position under D’Brickashaw. Prior to the 2017 season, the Buccaneers could decide to cut him, Ferguson would only account for $1.28 million in dead cap.link
