Since we are, hopefully, looking at an extended audition for Glennon I wanted to look at what makes a "quality" QB. I like stats so no eyeball test stuff. What can we measure Glennon on?These are the average stats of a top 20 QB from last year ignoring total based figures that are distorted by attempts. I don't care about total yards because if he only throws 20 times per game his totals will necessarily be lower than someone like Stafford who throws 50 times per game. So what is an "average top 20 QB" from 2013:Comp %: 63.6TD%: 5.5INT%: 2.1%Y/A: 7.5Y/C: 11.9SK%: 6.1QBR: 96.0These next stats are the average stats of the QB's from 6-20 on the list (so leaving out the "elite" performers)Comp %: 62.4TD%: 5.0INT%: 2.4%Y/A: 7.2Y/C: 11.6SK%: 6.3QBR: 91.0I think that second grouping is sorta the "target" for where I want Glennon to be for the season to feel good about him as the future. BTW the list of guys on the "inside" of the top 20, in order:Nick Foles*Peyton Manning*+Josh McCown (ironic)Philip Rivers*Aaron RodgersDrew Brees*Russell Wilson*Tony RomoBen RoethlisbergerColin KaepernickSam BradfordMatt RyanJay CutlerAlex Smith*Andy DaltonCam Newton*Tom Brady*Andrew Luck*Matthew StaffordCarson PalmerThe outside:Mike GlennonRobert GriffinRyan FitzpatrickRyan TannehillMatt CasselKellen ClemensCase KeenumChristian PonderEJ ManuelJason CampbellChad HenneJoe FlaccoMatt SchaubBrandon WeedenEli ManningTerrelle PryorGeno SmithI feel pretty good that I want a QB like one of the first 20 guys and not really the last set of players.
