If Gruden had not been fired following the 2008 season, what would have happened? Rumor has it he wanted to sign Haynesworth, Brandon Jacobs, and TJ Housh. The owners told him no and things quickly fell out of favor and he was gone. Bruce Allen was let go as well.
So a few questions arise. Garcia was going to be gone, so who would the QB have been? I doubt Gruden would have drafted Freeman, so who would the first round pick have been? Would Derrick Brooks have played another year? How would Raheem Morris have fared as the DC, as he was originally hired to do? Who would have been picked up in free agency? What would our record have been? And would Gruden have been fired after the season anyway? And if so, who would have been the coach? Raheem still?
Just looking for some fun discussion on an interesting what if scenario.
