Who would they have picked? I am going to take a crack at it. I would not have traded up into the 5th but I would have tried to trade down in the 3rd in order to pick up a later pick rather than trading up for Pamphile. All that aside I am listing these picks in the exact order that the Bucs picked. 1. Aaron Donald. This is a no-brainer for me. With the defensive minds on this staff and the way they platoon players Aaron Donald would have been a perfect fit here.2. Kyle Van Noy. He has the speed to get sideline to sideline and can cover very good. I envision him as a modern day Hardy Nickerson built for todays NFL. 3. Phillip Gaines. Right now Michael Jenkins seems to be our backup outside CB and Gaines would have been competition there and has great man cover abilities.5. Aaron Lynch. Looking for depth behind RDE Johnson, Lynch gives a corner bending player to platoon in. He is competing with Clayborn and Means for a roster spot, because frankly neither of those players can get low and bend the corner, which is a requirement in this defense. 5. Lamin Barrow. Special team ace and possible future SLB. Would have made no sense trading up here for this player but just using the same spots the Bucs picked.6. EJ Gaines. Another CB. Another Gaines. This one plays an entirely different position and is competing for a nickel CB roster spot.
