What if the Bucs traded… September 28, 2015 Gil Arcia  Trade_Zpsjn00Pnpv.jpgThere are so many overreactions following a Bucs loss each week it’s hard to keep up with all of them. Everyone wants the coach fired. Everyone wants other players and just say “Hey they should get this guy” like it is so easy. Not one person ever mentions a trade. No, trading quarterback Mike Glennon doesn’t count. People are concerned with the depth on the team at nearly every position yet they want to trade away the one position where there is perhaps a solid backup. Not to mention won’t get much of anything in return. If you want immediate impact, I’m talking bigger. I’m talking about a player or players that will demand a couple more in return with one shot. I’m talking about trading a Gerald McCoy or a Lavonte David. Sounds crazy, right? That’s because it is. It’s absurd as hell. But the Bucs haven’t won much since both have been on the team together — a record of 14-37 since David’s 2012 rookie season. Plus, David was an All-Pro under the previous staff’s scheme and McCoy was turned into a Pro Bowler under the previous staff as well.Football is the ultimate team game. Many have said there aren’t enough role players on Tampa Bay’s roster. You can not disagree with any of that. So how do you get immediate impact? You trade a player of that caliber. You trade a McCoy or a David and get multiple pieces back in return who are playmakers to some level. Before you go jumping off the Skyway, think about how else you would bring in some immediate help. Because unless you trade a top tier guy, you’re not getting anything remotely close to what you need. The Buccaneers are building through the draft. This was going to be a season featuring lots of growing pains. With a rookie quarterback, rookie linemen, rookie linebacker and some other newcomers sprinkled in, there was no way to realistically expect the Bucs to run the table this season.Yes, this is a bad football team at the moment and things aren’t going to get better quickly. So until they do, we all have to be patient.link
