Now that we’re through with the 2023 draft we have let the dust settle and are able to see where we still have holes. And despite a draft that addressed many of our needs, we have plenty of holes that still need addressing. What position do you feel is our biggest need? For me if looks like this:
1. Corner - this addresses two issues… a backup outside corner and a starting nickel. We are hoping and praying that Zyon looks like a different player this coming season, but he had a long way to go from where he finished up last season. Are we really comfortable with him stepping in if Davis or Dean go down? Not me.
And next, yes, I feel much better going into the season with a corner playing nickel. We do not have that guy on the roster right now. And please don’t tell me Hayes or our UDFA will win the job. Shouldn’t we at least consider bringing in a S. Griffin or M. Peters or Rock Ya-Sin? We’re in a bad place after Davis and Dean.
NCB is our biggest hole. For what SMB actually went for he probably better off signing him back for that cheap. Zyon has long ways to go before being ready to be playing meaningful downs. And he's an outside CB all the way
That's going to be our downfall on D.
I'd take a stab at Roby/Troy Hill before anybody else on this roster
If they're really stupid enough to move Mauch to guard then it's OT.
nickel back (and left tackle if they want to keep Wirfs at RT)
I am going to say either NB or S. Neal can play NB but the problem is that makes S a glaring hole. So Neal can cover S or NB but the Bucs most choose which position to address so Neal can focus on playing NB or S exclusively.
As for OL I think they have enough coverage to find a starting 5 but I am not convinced they have proper depth yet. But that is to be determined.
Edge rusher was a concern of mine but the team is going for a youth movement and Shaq/Gill are coming back.
