There's been a lot of talk about the need to improve the running back position, but not a lot of talk about what kind of running back do we really need? Questions....
Are we trying to replace Jones or complement him? Because Jones is not your typical 3rd down back, but I don't know if you would call him a workhorse type either. He's kind of a tweener. He's a decent back, but you don't put him in there to get three yards and a cloud of dust, and he's not a good enough receiver and pass blocker to be your ideal 3rd down back.
Which would be your dream back for the Arians offense? Would you rather bring in a Christian McCaffrey type to have a more multifaceted attack similar to the Panthers of a couple years ago, or would you rather bring in a Derrick Henry type and pound the ball and turn Winston/Rivers/Whoever into the next Tannehill?
So everybody agrees we need help at running back, but the devil is in the details. What kind of help are we talking about?
