So here's what I know..
Let's start with Roethlisberger, who suffered what was reported as a deep bone bruise in his throwing elbow during the week one matchup with Cleveland - a game in which he threw 3 interceptions, 2 of which to a debuting rookie in Denzel Ward.
He did play yesterday against the Chiefs, but having gone back to look at film it is crystal clear to me, he had poor accuracy beyond 10-15 yards. Sort of akin to Jameis last season when his shoulder wasn't right.
I don't know the specifics of a bone bruise as far as healing time, or whether it could have been further damaged against the Chiefs, but it's worth speculation if there is more to the injury than the public knows.
Of course, Ben could heal up by Monday and throw it down field 20 times, but it's worth monitoring his status this week on the injury report.
If he is still limited this week, it would be an indication that he could struggle again to push the ball downfield.
A Pittsburgh team without Leveon Bell and the deep threat is a beatable team Monday night, and I haven't even mentioned their defense. Hint: there isn't much to mention.
The passing defense for the Steelers has been dreadful. Moreso than ours, considering we rebounded a bit this week. They gave up 6 TD passes to Patrick Mahomes in his 3rd career start yesterday. Funny when you consider that HC Mike Tomlin happens to have made his bread in the NFL as a DB coach. Hmm...
Speaking of Tomlin, the fans in Pittsburgh have seemingly had enough. Perhaps you can chalk it up to overreaction, but a vast majority are already calling for the 'overrated fraud' of a coach to be fired. No, I'm not making this up. Pittsburgh is on the brink of utter turmoil. In fact, they may be past that point.
Oh, did I mention the latest social media splash coming from WR Antonio Brown? Apparently a former team employee from the Steelers called AB out, saying he if he didn't have Ben he wouldn't be as good as he is made out to be, and that he wouldn't have nearly the same success on any other roster. To that, Brown responded: "Trade me, [let's find out]".
Monday night the skyrocketing Buccaneers will be hosting an opponent that seems to be plummeting from grace. 3-0 never looked so attainable.
