but if you think he'll be on the 53 man roster then you are just falling for the media hype.

This almost all but guarantees he makes the 53.

A lot is going to have to go wrong for two undrafted players and a 7th rounder to make the 53.

Bingo

the 2024 Bucs offense set records and probably had a couple UFA and a 7th rounder, right?

just on offense

I'm just trying to figure which players lose a 53 man roster spot for these 3 to make it.

Shilo and Tez can play special teams so that helps.

We have some pretty crappy secondary players that I don't see being any better than Shilo.

Outside of Godwin/Evans/Egbuka/McMillan I don't see anyone as a lock to make the team.

Palmer's speed doesn't translate and his special teams contributions have been subpar.

So idk... I'd also add we have added a ton of undrafted rookies to the 53 man roster over the years. From Cameron Brate to Izien and anywhere in between.

Sure, UDFA’s and 7th rounders have made the roster before. But I’m not sure there have been three from one draft class - even when the team sucked year after year after year. Those are long odds.

In the end there aren't as many spots up for grabs for UDFAs to make the initial 53.  Roberts, Majors and Chukumwa seem to have the early edge.  I think Sanders and Watson will be behind in terms of being ready to play.   If you aren't ready to play then the practice squad is for you.  There are plenty of practice squad guys who end up on the roster eventually.  So the big mystery of who is going to have to "meet with the Turk" is not what it used to be.   When the schedule expands to 18 games the NFL will need even more warm bodies.  Bowles has shown a loyalty toward his camp players when it comes to fillling out the practice squad, so it's not the end of the road if you don't make it by any means.

Is there a way to look it up? Feels like 1 or 2 each year for the past 10 years have made it.

Could be wrong...

As I said earlier, I don't see all 3 making it.

I do think Tez sticks.

And, maybe Shilo.

The Buccaneers signed 20 rookies in that initial rush a year ago, and six of them made the opening-day roster: safety Christian Izien, wide receiver Rakim Jarrett, safety Kaevon Merriweather, cornerback Derrek Pitts, running back Sean Tucker and RB Markees Watts. (Sixth-round draft pick Jose Ramirez ended up on the practice squad.)

Thompkins and Russell in 2022

Nobody in 2021

Cam Gill in 2020

Seems like it's about 1 or 2 on average per year since 2020.

Yeah, there was a lot of turnover that season. And guys like Jarrett, Merriweather, Pitts, and Watts making the roster that year kinda validate my point. If a 7th rounder and two UDFA make the 2025 final 53, this roster isn't as strong as we fans are hoping.

i think Devin Culp was a 7th rounder. Most are excited about him. "Emmitt Smith" played a big role ... against New Orleans."

I think Jarrett was injured.

anyway, 3 players just on offense

Sounds like Steelers inquired about Trey Palmer.

I say pull the trigger.

That's fair but I think Shilo and Tez making the roster, when they maybe should have gone in the 5-6th round range but dropped, isn't an indictment of the talent per se.

But it's all speculation at this point.

There is no reason for the Bucs to trade Palmer for what - a conditional 7th rounder?  For what they'll get for Palmer they might as well see what happens in training camp.

well the most likely thing is a combination make it versus cut

but if all or nothing...i'm suggesting closer to none of them making it and attempts to put on practice squad

Last year, the Bucs opening day roster consisted of 5 WR, 6DL, and 11 DBs

so assuming a similar roster count

WR - Mike Vans, Chris Godwin, Emeka Egbuka, and Jalen McMillan are locks.

That leaves Rakim Jarrett, Kameron Johnson, Tez Johnson, Ryan Miller, Trey Palmer, and Sterling Shepard in the mix.

I would suggest that Trey Palmer and Sterling Shepard enter training camp ahead of Tez.  If Bucs decide to just keep 5 WRs, i dont think he makes it.  If they decide to keep 6, he has an outside shot.  Who wins the punt returning job?  If Trey Palmer wins that, that's a huge advantage and also Sterling's history with Baker.

DL - Logan Hall, Vita Vea, Calijah Cancey, and Greg Gaines are locks

That leaves Elijah Roberts, CJ Brewer, Mike Green, and Desmond Watson for 2 spots.

Roberts has higher draft pedigree, CJ Brewer and Green have advantage from historical game play.  So entering training camp, he has an uphill battle but hardly insurmountable given the players ahead of him.

Secondary - Zyon McCollum, Antoine Winfield Jr, Christian Izien, Jamel Dean, Tykee Smith, Benjamin Morrison, and Jacob Parrish are locks.

that leaves 4 spots with Josh Hayes, Keavon Meriweather, Marcus Banks, Tyler Funderburk, and Bryce Hall also in the mix.  Shilo Sanders likely enters training camp buried but if he impresses, again, not much infront of him.

so again, i think these 3 guys are more likely practice squad bound and would suggest its more likely they go 0-3 then 3-3...but the most likely is maybe 1 of them does make the team if i had to bet....but in a choice of all or nothing....yeah nothing
