Former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow hasn't played a meaningful snap in a while, but a small contingent of Jacksonville Jaguars fans who lobbied for Tebow will be pleased to know he is close by. Tebow grew up in Jacksonville and now has a residence there, purchasing a $1.4 million home in Glen Kernan Golf & Country Club, according to a report by the Jacksonville Business Journal's Andrew Thurlow. A picture gallery of the sprawling estate is available as well.Absent a shot at making an NFL roster, Tebow is making the most of the opportunities created by his legendary college football legacy at the University of Florida, working as an analyst for ESPN's new SEC Network.Now that he's at least in the Sunshine State, the Arena Football League could apparently be an avenue Tebow could explore to continue his career on the gridiron. Orlando Predators owner David Siegel expressed interest in signing Tebow to a contract on Tuesday, per Richard Bilbao of the Orlando Business Journal."If Tim Tebow came to play for us, he would be involved not only in the team, but in the company, as well," said Siegel. "We're waiting for a call. We would want to talk to him. He would be great not only in playing, but for public relations."The AFL is something Tebow has turned down in the past, opting not to sign a three-year contract offer from the LA KISS. Perhaps he wanted to get back to his roots in Jacksonville and wait a while longer to see if the NFL would come calling before taking the next step.Should he wait too long to knock off the rust and get back on the field, the chances of Tebow ever playing QB professionally again will continue to decline. Doing so with the Jaguars seems even more unrealistic at the moment after the franchise selected QB Blake Bortles with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2014 draft.Of course, Tebow was never supposed to succeed in the NFL, yet he somehow manged to win a playoff game over the Pittsburgh Steelers, throwing for 316 yards in the overtime victory. There likely isn't too much to read into his move back to Jacksonville other than the fact that Tebow appears to be in for a homecoming of sorts.Even the smallest development regarding Tebow can move the needle. But until something tangible happens on the field or he's in front of the camera with ESPN, news of Tebow's home purchase will be the media cycle equivalent to his brief but unforgettable flash of NFL brilliance.
