With Licht taking EE in round 1 last year it was an acknowledgment along with Bowles statements that they want to keep stacking talent on offense. The problem is drafting defensive players isn't a guarantee given this coaching staff can't coach up players to line up properly for off coverage or quarters coverage. I mean rotating DBs due to pressure is something taught to little kids in pee wee football and the Bucs DBs don't understand this concept?
Bucs pathforward is the following because he MUST hit a home run to stack talent properly for this team to overcome other lesser talented teams:
1. Spend as much cap space as possible in free agency on defensive players. Three tech, nose tackle, left inside LB, right inside LB, elephant edge rusher, reserve edge rusher, and a dynamic DB.
2. Use the draft and take BAP to augment that front seven, but also OL, TE and WR groups.
This team lives or dies with offense and build around Mayfield but bringing in more talented OL, TE and WR.
