Hot coaching candidates, according to CBS Sports:- Penn State's Bill O'Brien- Stanford's David Shaw- Darrell Bevell in Seattle- Denver's offensive coordinator Adam Gase- Josh McDaniels- Jay Gruden
1) Either Seattle Coordinator2) Brian Shaw3) Guz Malzhan4) Wisenhunt5) Jim Leavitt
You have got to be joking...
Leavitt purely because he's a local guy and USF has become a laughing stock since he left.Malzhan has worked his way up from high school to college coordinator to winning the SEC as a headcoach. Next step is the NFL and nothing in his past indicates he'd fail there. He's an offensive mastermind (IMO, he makes Chip Kelly look average) who has changed his offensive philosophy based on the personnel he's handed. Guy's a genius.
I dont even know how to respond to this. Im going to just assume Leavitt was a joke. Malzhan might be a genius, but he is also less than 10 years removed from being a high school coach. He has only been a head coach in college for 2 seasons. How about we keep our search in the NFL realm for now?

Just throwing out a name here, but......what about Pep Hamilton...Colts OC...??Chance that he could come in as a minority candidate and really impress in the interview like a Mike Tomlin did in Pitt...
with GMC's comment about the lack of continuity and the way the Glazers often switch dramatically (def(Dungy) to offense (Gru), player coach(Rah) to college disciplinarian (Schiano)), I would say they bring in someone like Lovie . . . established, respected NFL HC. May not be the ideal fit for us, but I don't think the Glazers think on that level as much as they react and think of things from a marketing perspective (Lovie is brining old TB success back)
If we are going to do this right, shouldn't we hire the GM and let him assemble his staff?
WisenhuntSchottyShawBevellJay GrudenNone of them make any sense if they can't identifiy a franchise QB though...I like Chud as an OC - not HC.
I'm fine with Love Smith at HC and Chud at OC

Thats just crazy talk lol.
David Shaw, Greg Roman, Rob Chudzinski.
Ronde Barber - DCJoking, but this is his time to become DB's coach or maybe DB assistant coach.

The NFL is evolving into a spread offense league and no one in the world runs or adapts spread offenses to his personnel than Gus does. I don't care that he is less than 10 years from being a high school coach. If anything, his quick rise and immediate success shows that he knows how to adapt and handle a variety of situations. While Nick Saban (ya know, the best college coach in the country) was yelling at coordinators, switching kickers, and going for it on 4th down from Auburn's 15, Gus sat there calmly, put the ball in his playmakers hands and outcoached the supposed GOAT. I want a top (actually successful) college coach or one of the top NFL coordinators. If we hire a defensive minded coach I'll lose my mind.
Well, you better call the Glazers because I'm sure Lovie Smith will be announced as the new Bucs HC sooner rather than later

He has a pretty nice gig at Fox right now, doubt he'd leave. I definitely wouldn't be opposed to the idea of him becoming some type of db coach though
Leavitt is a real solid coach. I don't see him as a possibility but I wouldn't downplay how good he is.
