I edited my post but it didn't work. ALABAMA, not Georgia!
there's no guarantee the Bucs will be able to re-sign him.
no guarantee for sure, but they would have the inside track.
Hopefully he plays well enough to make it an issue
It so difficult to predict the 19th pick, for a myriad of reasons. The biggest reason is it's impossible to know who will be available that late in the draft. Teams do crazy, unpredictable things on draft day - and that includes Jason Licht.
Here are my desires in order of what I want to happen
- Trade down for some foolishly thirsty for a QB football club looking to trade back into round 1
- Campell
- Starks
- Emanwarri
- Egbuka
Hope Ez is there - but would be ok with Campbell.
I am coming around to the belief that we aren’t targeting Campbell, and I’m good with it. There’s 2nd round ILB talent that could fill the role & develop behind LVD & SvD…maybe even get some rotational experience to help development & reduce LVD’s pitch count this season.Still, does this scenario consider if Jihaad Campbell may still be on the board?
Yes
Like S/CB at 19 - seems like that’s the pick - but we’ll have to see if/who falls.

I’m very high on Paul Jr.
Hoping they are too.
Could see him as their R3 selection.
Donovan Ezeiruaku
Ideally that is priority #1 and Licht can figure out the rest of the draft with trading up and down in the mid rounds to shore up LB, DB, WR, DL and OL.
Yes, would love Chris Paul, Jr as a Buc - there are a few more just don’t know how they will fall. There’s 2nd round ILB talent that could fill the role & develop behind LVD & SvD…maybe even get some rotational experience to help development & reduce LVD’s pitch count this season

I’d prefer front 7 like Campbell
I think it’ll be Hairston or Barron if either is there.
SR on the final mock draft video says there's no evidence whatsoever (interviews, bowls, visits) the Bucs have any interest in Barron. So that would be a super-stealth pick. Campbell is being mocked to the Bucs by just about anybody not in Tampa Bay. Ezierauku is SRs mock pick. It seems to be a lock. Maybe I'm just not willing to go with the easy choice. I'm still predicting the Bucs will trade down at most half a dozen spots and I'm sticking with Starks.
according to Schefter, just sit back and trust Licht!
"“Nobody has drafted more players, and have succeeded [with those players] than I think the Bucs with GM Jason Licht,” Schefter said. “Under Licht, the Buccaneers lead the NFL, in total snaps, over 132,000, and games started almost 1,900 by players that they drafted themselves in rounds one through five.”
My secret disruptive wish list:
Ez or Matthew Golden (even take a Luther Burden).
