"This is overwhelming data."
75th post with "overwhelming data?" Maybe 100th?
Trading White for a draft pick has to assume we are using that pick for another running back. What running back are we going to draft for a 6th round pick? That's the best we can do for a serviceable running back on the last year of his deal. You can draft a serviceable back in the 4th or 5th round and have them under contract for four years, so why would somebody trade us a midround pick for White? He's cheap and serviceable and you need multiple running backs on the team. He's not going anywhere. What are we going to get for him? There's a boatload of RBs in this draft. Who's going to give up anything for a guy in the last year of his contract? My secret disruptive wish list:
Ez or Matthew Golden (even take a Luther Burden).
My “disruptive/unexpected” prediction is that White isn’t a Buc after this weekend.
There's almost no upside for trading White while he is still on his rookie contract.
His pass receiving skills don't move the needle. Bucs record when he had 3 or more receptions was 1-7. Record when he had 2 or less was 8-0.
He's an abysmal runner. For the team to get better his touches have to be phased out of the offense.
That abysmal runner ladled on 1000 yards from scrimmage last season and he picks up the rush very well. He's cheap, he's needed. Let's stop being dumb about this. He's not getting traded tonight or over the weekend. It's weird...
The evidence shows that he's actually not needed. His 3 highest snap count percentages the Bucs averaged 18 points per game. In his 3 least? 42 points per game.
This is overwhelming data. He should not be on this football team in 2025.
This is also completely false.CBS - "The Bucs tried to get a corner in free agency and missed out on their top targets."
It could be. Do you mind saying why you think so?
It was in a draft write up so its completely unsourced. I dont know anything about the author.
Lots of talk in the off-season about this and that. If Tampa wanted to find a CB in FA, they probably would have found one. In a league where only a handful of teams hold the cards, the Bucs are finally one of those teams.
sounds good. Thanks!
can't wait to see it play out

The only reason the Bucs would move White is if they feel that Irving and Tucker are ready to take the next step. White right now is very cap friendly and is a veteran with playoff experience. Given the Bucs are not super active in free agency they really need to keep their homegrown players as long as possible IMO.
"per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, among the four teams looking to trade back are the Bucs."
Interesting. I guess Cleveland was another. It takes two to tango so we'll see if they get any takers."per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, among the four teams looking to trade back are the Bucs."
Bucs went with WR but not with one not many anticipated (Egbuka).

It so difficult to predict the 19th pick, for a myriad of reasons. The biggest reason is it's impossible to know who will be available that late in the draft. Teams do crazy, unpredictable things on draft day - and that includes Jason Licht.
I think I won, especially on the last part
Wr was clearly on Licht's mind just like I thought it would.
These defensive players aren't game changers like Egbuka or Tet... They just aren't

Bowles said as much and I think that is the point. No single defensive player is going to carry the defense. But I do wonder how day 2 and day 3 unfold and what their plans are for edge, LB and DB.

I think we gotta go all defense now. Make it rain.
The more I look at Egbuka the better I feel about it. Future pro bowler

Egbuka is compared to JSN and to me that is good enough. But we will see what magic Licht has for day 2 and day 3.
Edge, ILB, DL, CB, S and interior OL need to be addressed in some capacity.

I'm all in on Egbuka
