Would you wanna trade for: penny Henry jeudy dalvin cook or an interior OL?

id love an interior iol(a la shaq mason a few years back) but unfortunately WRs and RBs are more likely to be traded then a iOL. You build from the trenches out. Teams realize that.

2nd would be jeudy as he’d be cheaper then extending Evans & much younger.

what say you?

Honestly, no one.

let's bite the bullet on cap issues and this season is who we though they were....the Bucs from 2009 to 2019 which were mediocre at best.

QB-  Baker is not the answer but the best we got.  If he is willing to sign for $15M you consider singing him in a legit QB battle and not with a guy who will be out of the NFL once Bucs contract expires. Need to see what QBs are available via draft. Looks like Cousins, Tannehill will be available in free agency; likely Kyler Murray and Justin Fields via trade.  Who knows what happens with Derek Carr and Russell Wilson after disappointing seasons.  Don't know all the cap implications.  That being said, i dont think this team is a QB away.  They were a GOAT away last time and won.  But that GOAT also brought HoF caliber WR and TE with him too.  not sure what QB i just listed would have that type of impact.  unlikely.  So i suggest one of these vets at a cheap price of $15M-$20M that doesn't cost us picks to compete with hopefully a rookie; but only if that rookie has a chance to be a game changer; not a Kyle Trask or Chris Simms type pick.  Go broke with a Winston or Freeman type; albeit they didnt work out, at least we swung.

RB - Not Barry Sanders in his prime would be successful behind our line.  Stay cheap with White

WR - need to re-sign Evans.  He is shaping up to have his typical year of 1000 yards, 8-10 TDs.  Sign him to 3 year, 60 million.  Cut Russell Gage to afford the promotion

TE - need to get better with veteran - consider a Hunter Henry, Dalton Schultz, Gerald Everrett, or Mike Gesicki who are all free agents next year

OL - Does it make sense to cut Jensen?  what does that save us?  Think we consider a 1st round pick here at OG or consider high level vet.

DL - have alot invested with Vea, Clancy, and Hall.  Consider a high pick here as always important to build trench's

Edge - Consider cutting Shaq.  maybe try a guy that may need new scenary, i.e. Chase Young. or that guy that has played for every team Yannick Ngakoue.  Shaq aint worth the money.  JTR stinks, so consider high pick here.  (running out of high picks!)

ILB - resign David if he wants to continue playing, let White walk.  Can't afford him and he isnt a top LB. Sign a vet to replace David

Secondary - Sign Winfield. Draft Neal replacement and or sign a different veteran. Heck, think Jordan Whitehead is a free agent, not sure what he woudl command.

@detrimental interesting if he’s on the block that could be the nastiness our DL needs. I like it!

Trade away underperforming veterans for draft picks.

Licht is hanging onto those draft picks like they are gold bars.  He's not giving any of them up.

we usually waste our draft picks anyway sadly

But yeah as far as the cap and rookie contracts it’s important to have young players outplay their draft status $ wise especially QBs.

awj and wirfs come to mind for us.

This is the only response, IMO.

The front office did an amazing job making sure all that dead money gets cleared after this season. Finish getting through the rest of this season, do your best to get a QB, and then the rest of the holes.

For a third round pick, I think it would've been worth it. However, with Winfield, Wirfs, and Evans due new contracts we'd be back in cap hell trying pay Chase as well. It'll be interesting to see what his FA market will be because the guy has injury concerns + production. Does not have a double digit sack season since being drafted but his reputation is regarded as a top flight EDGE. Me thinks he ends with up over 10 with the talent he's playing with and some team will have to pony up.

What do you make of Sweat going for a second rounder from Chicago, which is probably going to be a top-35 pick. While Young went for a compensatory third rounder from San Fran, which is probably going to be late-90's/early 100's.

Is the Bears GM entirely over his head or is Young's injury really that serious. I'm leaning towards the Bears GM being a chump, with a little bit of concern for Young's long-term health.
