Who will be the Buccaneers' next Pro Bowler?By Sander Philipse Dec 24, 2015 Reinhold Matay-USA TODAY SportsAt least two Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be going to the Pro Bowl in January, assuming they don't bow out due to injury. Gerald McCoy and Doug Martin were elected to the Pro Bowl, while Logan Mankins and Lavonte David could joining them as alternates. That's a decent result for a poor system, but the Bucs should have a few more Pro Bowl candidates in future seasons. ESPN took a look at the next most likely Pro Bowl for each team, and they chose Lavonte David for the Bucs.Linebacker Lavonte David is a Pro Bowl alternate, but assuming he doesn't make the team this season, I expect him to break through in 2016. Since entering the league in 2012, David leads the league in solo tackles, is second in total tackles, run stuffs and tackles for loss while also ranking second in the league among LBs in interceptions. This year, he is the only NFL player with 100-plus tackles, three-plus interceptions, two-plus sacks and one forced fumble. -- Rick BrownLavonte David missing out on the Pro Bowl the past three years was an absolute travesty, though it's not quite that bad this year -- he did certainly have a bad first half of the season. But David has been the best 4-3 outside linebacker in the NFL in basically every year of his career. The only reason he hasn't made the Pro Bowl before is that the entire system is set up to benefit edge rushers over classic, 4-3 outside linebackers like David -- incidentally not something that is likely to change in the near future. The fact that those circumstances aren't about to change makes me think we're likely to see a different player get to the Pro Bowl first. Most notably, Jameis Winston could join that group really soon if he continues his development -- he's had a very promising start to his career so far, and is a solid contender for the Offensive Rookie of the Year award.Mike Evans, Kwon Alexander and Ali Marpet are three other names to keep in mind: all three are young players with a ton of potential who have played well this year, but not quite well enough to be among the top players at their respective positions. No matter how you look at it, though, the Bucs actually have quite a lot of talent on their team. And that's a pretty good thing.link
