I forgot my creedo for a second, don't feed the troll.
If he makes the playoffs once in the next 6 years, no that would not be successful. If he lasts 6 years though, I presume that to mean we won 11 games every year and still missed the playoffs.
You seemed to be implying that losing a SuperBowl was not the definition of success. Levy never got the Bills the Lombardi, yet you still call him successful.
Huh? I never said what you are saying. In fact, read above you seem to be having a difficult time understanding what I am saying. Sorry.
He did succeed with the Bears.
Define "succeed" please.
Lasted nine years and was 18 gams over .500.
SImple question...if he makes the playoffs just ONCE in the next six years would you be happy? Yes or no?
If Lovie only makes the playoffs for the Bucs once in the next six years I'll be disappointed that the entire organization failed to assemble the pieces necessary to win. It's my belief that with the pieces given to him, Lovie gets the most out of what he has.
Success:: the fact of getting or achieving wealth, respect, or fame (GOT THIS ONE): the correct or desired result of an attempt (MADE IT TO THE SUPERBOWL, albeit just once)
and finished in 3rd or fourth place 5 out of 9 years. he was too loyal to mediocre players like grossman, he is tony dungy all over again, hes going to be a great image for the community, will finish most years with 7 to 10 wins, and because people are used to mediocrity being a fan of this team, he'll get 4-5 years to get the team to the playoffs.welcome back everyone, we are revisiting the late 90s, great defenses with mediocre offenses.

Well the troll just kicked your ass in this thread. So, what does that make you? Don't presume anything since he just went six seasons in Chi-Town only making the playoffs once before not being retained. I asked a simple question. Try not to make it personal will you. Don't let nostalgia get in the way of reality. Lovie started off great in CHicago and hasn't done d!ck in years. Hopefully, he gets it right in Tampa. Again, I will hold off until we see the product on the field. Continue on.
Looking at your scenario, if in just one of those seasons we have 13 wins and make it to a SuperBowl, he will be forever revered.

Find negativity in the one bright spot the Bucs have had in the last few years, go ahead and see how much you enjoy your life.
He did fizzle out toward the end of his tenure, which culminated in a 10-win season, but I do not fault him for that. Look at his GM.
On a side note, don't you find it funny that all of the Lovie supporters just disappeared as soon as you started arguing with me? =P Good show
....--What? huh?? Oh, the topic at hand, right!I think, again, the GM is critical. We don't have all the pieces yet, but if we have ONE good draft on both ball sides...who knows.
If we hire Jerry Angelo, my excitement will evaporate come April
Agreed.Just say no to Jerry Angelo.
Ditto. It'd feel to weird for me like more of the same. What was tha guy that assembled the 49ers? Scott Mcleon or whatever his name is?
