we sit our starters because we dont have great depth and injuries can derail a season
look at last year with Jensen going down in training camp; the beginning of the end right there
heck, look at our repeat run the year before - if we have Godwin and Wirfs, one could argue we repeat
so far this year, we lost Gage which hurts our depth significantly at the position.
at the skill positions, after Evans,Godwin, Otton and White; you have guys that would struggle to make other teams
Jensen is banged up, Wirfs playing a new position, Luke should be selling used cars. Actually have some decent depth on the interior line but the starters are just marginally better than the back ups there anyway.
and finally on defense
Kancey - already hurt
Vea - guy hasnt played a complete season since 2019, invested alot in him, no need for him to get hurt in meaningless football
Shaq - recovering from injury
Dean - has yet to play a full season in his 4 year career, invested alot in him
Davis - has yet to play a full season in his 5 year career, invested alot in him
Winfield - has missed 4 games each of the last 2 seasons
David - guys a veteran, doesnt need practice
