I really like the pick but can't say I'm in love with it. As the dust finally settles... my observations lead me to believe that the FO wanted Watkins more than anything in this entire off season. We are where we are because of the win @ Detroit (sorry can't let that go...) but there's a reason why I say that... and that is with the cards not in favor for L&L to land Watkins, Evans was the next best thing for the offense. It really is a sound option, Evans is only 20 years old and in time he can be a dominant weapon. VJ grooming Evans is going to be a beautiful thing to watch... a pro like VJ showing him the ropes will do wonders for him and his career... to me it's an exciting investment for the offense, especially long term.Evans being so young, and to me his body looks like he can get much stronger when he's already a physically imposing player. His upper body, and especially his legs can become stronger and over the years his body type could become closer to Brandon Marshall. If he really takes care of his body while adding muscle he could start looking a little bit like CJ. Plenty of room for him to grow into an even bigger beast. Now I want a guard.

The Seminole in me wants Benjamin.

The Seminole in me has mixed feelings about Benjamin. But I think his consistent dropping of easy passes outweighs my nole pride on that one.

the Seminole in me is terrified that he might end up in our division and that wed have to play against him twice a year

lol called it?

Vince Jackson is very proficient running those jerk routes from the slot so expect to see him there a lot with Evans on the outside running go routes.  We'll see how Myers/Wright fit in all of this too.

I thought Beckham, Watkins and Cooks were better fits thatn Evans back when this thread started. I still do, but I started warming up to Evans more and more as time went on and especially after Mike Williams was traded. So much so that when Teddy and Bridgewater were on the board and our pick was in, I whispered to my friend next to me "I kinda hope its Evans". I am a happy Bucs fan right now and they got perhaps the best receiver in draft in terms of a true #1 when Vjax is out.

What I like most from Evans is that he can be jams at the line and once he has momentum heading downfield he is hard to stop.  His route running needs work but he is very agile for a man of his size and not stiff in his hips like VJAX is.

Good call, that definitely looks to be the formula they are going for.
