Since we got so many here who want to trade Revis... Doesnt it make as much sense to trade McCoy or David who is going to cost a lot of money?Because, you know, we got so many holes everywhere else on the team and we need the draft picks. We can't be hogging great players and paying them more than the league minimum. It's too much stress on a rebuilding team and all....Just think of all those draft picks we'd have!! Then we can surely trade up and get Manziel and finally have our franchise QB!
Dude, we could draft like 3 first rounders this year if we only get rid of those overpriced, overhyped players.
Why not trade Gail Goodrich for Magic Johnson. Oops. Wrong mistake. My bad.
Why trade? Just cut them!
Somebody really doesn't unerstand the reasoning behind the idea of trading Revis. When were David or McCoy making 50% more than the 2nd highest paid guy at their position?Revis is massively overpaid, we have too many holes to fill with the very average cap situation and limited picks that we have, you really don't need elite at CB these days, 1 guy no longer takes away half the field, you build front to back & need pass rush.Revis value is less than what he's being paid and as Licht has said he's an asset, something that can be used toimprove the overall team in a way that works in todays NFL.
For the right price every player in the league is available. Green Bay would trade Aaron Rodgers if the price was right.I also have no interest in Manziel whatsoever.
Let's see...McCoy is a Pro Bowler and a perfect fit for our Tampa 2. David is a Pro Bowl caliber player (although he hasn't made it yet) and makes less than a million a year for the next two years. The Bucs can sign McCoy long term and actually free up cap room this year. Revis, while a great player, is coming off an injury and he admitted he couldn't play man as much as he would have liked. Honestly...I want to keep Revis but if we are going to play a lot of zone, we can get a 1st round pick, and we can free up 16 million in cap room...you have to listen to offers. I honestly don't want to trade anyone...but we have a lot of holes and Revis is the highest paid player. Again...if he's not going to fit this system...then you trade him. If we run more man. You hang on to him.
Why would you wait out his injury and then get rid of him? Unless the return is high, it makes no sense.

OK let me flip this. Let's say the Texans called and offered their entire draft this year for McCoy. The very next day the Rams called and offered their entire draft for David. The day after that the Jags called and offered their entire draft for Revis. Would you accept those offers? If you say no then you are full of poop.If you say yes then we agree on the priciple and are just haggling over price.

Don't the Bucs have a few drafts where not ONE star player was drafted and none of those guys are even starters? I'd rather keep the star. Revis is gettin old and I guess I'd trade him for 7 chances.
i don't trade David, no one trade high picks for 43 OLB... + he's only 24 and still on a low rookie contract...i'll take a top ten pick this year and a 1st round next year for McCoy ($10+ million in cap space), you can sign a top DE's in free agency and Henry Melton for $6-8M per year or draft Aaron Donald (maybe both)... really like McCoy, great player, great guy but this is better value...Revis is nearly 29, don't expect more than 2-3 years of great production(if Banks/Johnson play good), if you can sign the younger Verner, Davis or Shields for $8-9M per year, i'll take a top 20 pick... top 20-32 + 2nd/3rd round... or top 50 pick and a 1st round next year... remember the days we wouldn't draft any DB in the 1st round... Barber, Lynch, Abraham, Kelly, Jackson, Smith...
Unless the return is high, it makes no sense.
can you can find a reasonable poster who has mentioned low returns?

please sticky this in all repeat trade threads!

That's a great example of Reductio ad absurdum.

I'd say HELL NO. You tell me pal. What are the odds that ANY of those picks turn out to be a HOF corner in his prime, or the best LB in the NFL, or the best DT in the NFL?
