Here is my analysis:
Coaching Mistakes:
Offense:
Inactivating Rodgers for this game for Barber was stupid. Martin has been an ineffective runner since he returned and frankly lacks speed and rarely breaks tackles behind the line. He is an average to below average runner now.
We should have played Jacquizz Rodgers.
Offensive Line Coaching:
When your Right Tackle is getting beat like a bum give him some help or pull him off the field.
This led to stalled opportunity.
Winston:
How many deep balls to wide open receivers can one guy miss? This is a huge hole in his game. It cost us this time.
Defensive Play Calling and Scheme.
Why not blitz more? Lavonte David gets caught up in the WASH so often itsl ike I want to rename him TIDE. Seriously, he lacks football IQ. He also lacks speed laterally. He used to have more than he does since he got paid. You figure it out. He suffers from the I GOT PAID problem that Douggie has now.
Pre Game Speech by McCoy was exactly the wrong message. It was not about WINNING. It was all about getting Headlines and getting talked about. They were drinking their own Koolaid. So sick of this attitude on the team. Winston is trying to change it but with guys like McCoy who don't care about Winning it wont happen any time soon. That guy disappeared yet again. Greta players don't do that. He looked Tired and frankly looked like he was content not getting in on the QB.
Kwon is three times the player that David is and has put more time into getting better at his craft. David just has not. Hate to say this but look at the guy and his play. He does not look like he studies film nor that he recognizes gaps.
Special Teams are not very special. Our Kickoff returner Huff came out of the endzone at the wrong time and makes poor decisions. Aside from the punter and kick coverage team, we just don't have much in the way of returners for punts or kickoffs.
Until the Me First Attitude of this team goes away and it becomes about TEAM, we are destined for being an Almost Playoff Team with a QB who wants to win so badly, that he loses it on the field at times.
