as much as we need to draft for defense this year it looks like we are going to have to draft at least 2 WRs in this draft. why we ignored the position for so long is a mystery to me Evans has become the impact player we hoped for but the only other draft choices were late round fliers and none are left on the team. excluding Evans we havent spent a pick on a WR before the 5th round since 2010 and that WR is also not on the team
The cupboard is incredibly bare and it will stunt Winston's growth to keep trotting the same guys out for years. we need to address this position and unfortunately we are going to have to do it somewhat early at the expense of other positions. a WR absolutely must be picked in the 1st 2 rounds if we want to have any chance of Winston having success going forward. Teams already focus heavily on Evans and it will only get worse now that Jackson is gone
It boggles my mind how the front office has ignored the issue for so long. Jackson was clearly on the decline for the last couple of seasons due to age and we did nothing to address it.
