The latest PFF mock has Anthony Richardson dropping to the Falcons.  Even if that doesn't happen, Levis might fall to them.  Or they could trade up.  So Bryce Young is known for his ability to scramble, and Richardson and Levis are both very athletic as well.  If our division rivals both draft QBs in Round 1, does this force the Bucs to respond by drafting a defensive player in Round 1?

Our defensive players, Hall, Tryon, White, David and Barrett all have question marks attached to them.  Hall and Tryon - will they develop into the players they were drafted to be?  How long can David play?  Will Barrett ever be the same player, and will the Bucs cut him loose after this year?  And the White topic has already been beaten to death. No need to expand on that.

Do the Bucs need to be reactionary in their first-round pick and draft a defensive player first if both CAR and ATL take athletic quarterbacks?

No need to be reactionary. Have a plan going into the draft and stick to that plan, regardless of what other teams are doing.

OK fair enough.  I don't think the Bucs will change their strategy in the middle of the draft.   But we already know Carolina is taking Young.  And we already have the question marks about the pass rush.  Are we assuming too much to think the Bucs are prioritizing the OT position in Round 1?  Could they be more concerned about beefing up the pass rush in particular?

You have to develop your defense with the offenses you will face in mind. Everybody seems to be so sure we're taking an OT.  It's an open and shut case, apparently.  I'm not buying a lot of the narratives being put out there lately about the Bucs, and here's another one.  We'll find out soon enough.

Of the top 30 visits, five were edge defenders, two are first round types, Van Ness and Nolan Smith, three were 2nd round types Ojulari, Anudike and McDonald.  Only two OTs, both 1st round range, Wright and Harrison.  That's out of 24 visits recorded by PR.  So that doesn't mean they'll pick someone who had one of these visits, but it seems to indicate that edge is one of their priorities early on.

im definitely not sure we are taking an OT first, but I think it’s what we need to do.  I clearly see the scenario where we go into the season with wirfs/goedeke as our tackles, but I don’t love it.  After seeing so many OL go down last year I’d like to be stocked up…with talent.

My gut (and it's a big gut) is telling me the Bucs are leaning toward pass rusher in the first round, depending upon how well Wirfs has acclimated to the LT position. If Wirfs is doing good enough where they think he can handle the position with more reps during training camp, they can play Goedeke at RT and draft a player who can rush the passer.
