You always take the wins, the entire concept of football is based on winning games and hopefully making the playoffs/Super Bowl, you don't see teams headed into the year with the goal of getting the #1 pick.
but if you can't make the playoffs, the wins are meaningless!
And if you pick a bust that high pick is worthless, it works both ways but the difference is it's the National FOOTBALL League not the National Drafting League.I'll take a "worthless" win over a highly drafted bust as the negative any day of the week.
^^ this assumes you're drafting a bust ^^What about that all pro left tackle that we miss out on because of a win that no one remembers today.
Why did they fire Schiano? Remind me...
The fans will say lose every time. The players just want to win. Losing sucks.

The players don't think they are meaningless. They are playing for their jobs at that point.

It's assuming nothing, you don't know what you are getting (greatness or a bust) no matter where you pick in the draft so why not enjoy the wins which is what it's really all about. You could win a bunch of games and get a great player or you could lose a bunch and get a turd, nothing is set in stone no matter where you pick.I've never understood this mentality that we should lose the thing that matters just for a higher pick when great players come from all over the draft board, sure it would be a good idea if you were guaranteed a better player if you lost more but you're not.
Each season, 31 teams should have lost all their games....

And you're assuming we are drafting the next Peyton Manning. What about Ryan Leaf, Akili Smith, etc.?
Unless you're in the title hunt, there is no difference between losing 8 games or 15 games. Having access to more premium players is in the franchise's best interest.
Some people here would bet $1 million against themselves in a fight and take a dive while others couldn't fathom doing that. Ever.$1 million > prideTo me at least.
who wants to root for a team full of quitters?
WHO THE F CARES! People keep bringing this crap up. What has happened has happened. It's the past. The entire coaching staff and front office is gone. The team has moved on. We have the 7th pick. LIVE WITH IT!!! Would it be better to have the 3rd pick over the 7th? Of course...but who cares? It's not like we can go back and change it and people who keep bringing it up just do so to find something to complain about.
I'm guessing Swalpek sold a lot of murses in here...

Using that logic: The Bucs are going to do whatever the Bucs are going to do in May! There's no point in speculating on a message board!Just having fun ja?
