Thought I'd compare stats since I've seen so many people rave about how awesome Wentz is and how they wish Jameis looked more like Wentz. A statistical look through 6 (Wentz) and 5 (Winston) games so far. I'm not including the AZ game in which Winston played 2 series.
Wentz = 60.9% Pct, 264 YPG, 7.7 YPA, 2.16 TDs/G, .5 INTs/G, Rating = 99.6
Winston = 63% Pct, 316 YPG, 7.9 YPA, 2 TDs/G, .8 INTs/G, Rating = 95.5
I won't count all of the 4th quarter to throw out the 'garbage time' argument, but here are the QB's stats in the 4th quarter when the game is within 7 points:
Wentz = 21-37 (56.8%), 208 yards, 5.6 YPA, 1 TD, 1 INT, 70.6 Rating
Winston = 24-32 (75%), 317 yards, 9.9 YPA, 3 TDs, 0 INT, 137.1 Rating
Sure, Wentz and the Eagles are 5-1, but how much of their record is helped by their DEF and top 5 rushing offense? Tampa has a bottom 3 defense and bottom 3 rushing offense. Half the people on this board act like Wentz is Rodgers and Winston is Matt Cassell.
