Looking at the bright side we'll be alright once we get Goedeke back after about four weeks. Still more than half the season with our two top caliber OTs.
Should Wirfs go back to right tackle in the meantime? He played the position for years so there would be no learning curve. Barton could remain at left tackle. If you put Wirfs back at LT that leaves Heck at RT, and they already are doing everything possible not to rely on Heck. With Wirfs and Barton manning the tackle spots we'll be in good shape there. Bredeson is at center- he seems to be doing a passable job there. Practice squad guys at the guards. But at least the tackles are solid. So I'm just sayin' don't be surprised to see Wirfs back at RT until Goedeke comes back.
Another thought - trade for Alex Cappa. He's declined, but still occupying a reserve spot for the Raiders. Some familiarity with the folks at One Buc. So he's better than the practice squad guys we're dragging in. If Vegas recognizes the reality that they aren't going anywhere this year we could give up a late pick for him. You look at his base salary of $3.5 mil and that would be prorated. Next year's contract isn't guaranteed. So he'd be a rental. I know Licht doesn't like to give up picks, but a 7th rounder might do it.Looking at the bright side we'll be alright once we get Goedeke back after about four weeks. I don't know about Cappa but I'm sure there's someone out there for a late pick that's worth it.
If we are going for it all this year Licht has to make a move to replace Mauch and I don't mean picking up practice squad guys. It doesn't have to be right away, but soon. The hard part of the schedule is coming up soon.I don't know about Cappa but I'm sure there's someone out there for a late pick that's worth it.

No way in hell should we trading for Cappa. Lol.
As far as the rest of the line goes, I'd roll with:
RT - Chuk
RG - Feeney (maybe Opeta)
C - Bredeson
LG - Klein (Jordan if he's healthy)
LT - Barton
We need to shake this injury bug
We can salvage what we have left but what concerns me is what else the football gods will throw at us
Much as they like Chukwuma, that's wishful thinking to have him starting. That line is getting steamrolled. Whoever it is, Griz is going to earn his paycheck this week having to dream up some plays that work with that O-line.I don't know about Cappa but I'm sure there's someone out there for a late pick that's worth it.

We did to shit out a win vs the Jets then get Wirfs back and do the Texas shuffle on the line.

Clearly, you haven’t watched Heck play.
No right or wrong answer and plenty of faith in Carberry and Grizz to figure it out, but when Wirfs is back healthy if you go back to Barton at C and Bredeson at LG ypu at least have a strong left side to run behind (and pull) and protect Mayfield and you can shore up the right side with TE and RBs.
as opposed to playing everyone out of traditional positions.
who knows though
Yeah well that's why I want Wirfs going to right tackle when he comes back.Much as they like Chukwuma, that's wishful thinking to have him starting. That line is getting steamrolled.

You're going to have weak spots no matter how you slice it. I think we need to trade for a legit guard. Mauch is gone for the season no ifs ands or buts. If you are serious about competing for a title you have to make moves when it's time to make moves. I'm not saying they have to go big, but when there's a move to be made you have to make it.No right or wrong answer and plenty of faith in Carberry and Grizz to figure it out, but when Wirfs is back healthy if you go back to Barton at C and Bredeson at LG ypu at least have a strong left side to run behind (and pull) and protect Mayfield and you can shore up the right side with TE and RBs.

Licht knows how to do his job, and he's made in season trades before. I think you'll see him do it again. But not many teams are in rebuild mode just yet. They have to sell to the fans that they're trying to win. Perhaps a little further into the season some teams may be willing to part with a decent player who doesn't fit their future plans.
Well he's only traded for a player in-season once, but that worked out pretty well: DL Steve McLendon- The Buccaneers acquired McLendon in a trade with the New York Jets on October 18, 2020.

As do I, and I mentioned it a few days ago.
Don’t think it happens though.
they went back to the standard lineup, shore up the left, erven knowing it would take some adjustment
"“From an energy standpoint, I thought it was great for [Wirfs] to come back and then put everybody else back at their positions. But they’ve been away from their positions for quite a while,” Bowles said. “So they’re really back at their old positions but they’re new positions.
“That takes some getting used to as well. So hopefully this week everybody will settle in and we’ll be able to look like we used to look.”
think it makes sense
