Rumor of the Steelers potentially trading for him.
was shocked he got the extension he did.
going rate of a qb and all.
Jags would be stupid to trade him because this upcoming draft doesn't have a lot of QBs worth developing. Unless their goal is to tank in 2025 to look forward to 2026.
Lawrence is garbage
what does that say about him that the new coach already trying to move on
The Steelers be better off with a 1 year flyer on Aaron Rodgers.
OR...maybe sign Kyle Trask and just be absolute dog shit and be like 4-13 and get your actual QB in 2026 draft.
Lawrence isn't garbage. He had an injury prone bad year.
People said the same stuff about Darnold and Mayfield.
He's not elite but he's def a starter
Is Coen the HC, or is he the GM? Asking for a friend.

im afraid when you are costing your team that much against the cap, that contract; he’s closer to garbage:a negative than he is a positive on that team. But agree to disagree

You mean a whopping $15M this upcoming season? Bottom half of the league?
All the QB contracts become reasonable over time as the next contracts get signed.
Lawrence is still a solid but he's gotta improve to earn his pay...
This is one of the deepest RB drafts in recent memory. There are as many as 35 RBs with a draftable grade. Bucs can save $3.2M by trading White to Jacksonville. Replace him with a 6th or 7th round pick who would go in the 4th or 5th round in other years.

Nah, I like what White brings to the game.

i think it's actually $17M in 2025. But to your point, the dead cap figure is a cool $203M.
a contract so brutal that they are stuck with him the next few years.
The dude barely averaged a TD pass per game in 10 games last year. He has the same career trajectory as James Winston - second season was his best season, regressed in years 3 and 4, new coach "QB Whisper" to fix him in year 5. A new team in year 6? not sure if that contract will allow it
so that was my point. Arguably the 20th best QB in the league - Prescott, Mahomes, Stafford, Burrow, Allen, Jackson, Tua, Herbert, Mayfield, Goff, Love, Rodgers, Hurts, Stroud, Daniels, Burdy, Nix, Williams, and Donald all clearly better. Is he better than Geno or Kyler? Ahh let's give it to him.
Average contract value per year. He ranks second only to Dak Prescott. Yeah...a brutal contract.

Agreed. White has a role on this team. Great receiving back and a good blocker. A RB blocking ability might be one of the most undervalued skills in the NFL. There was a reason he was in on almost every third down.
